Half an hour later, Donovan and Giselle arrived at Gideon's villa.
Gideon's household staff were well acquainted with Ethan. So, naturally, they knew who Donovan was as well. When the staff saw Donovan's car, they swiftly walked over to help him open his door and welcomed him to the villa.
Giselle anxiously followed Donovan into the living room.
She'd just gotten to the door when she heard the voice of a woman and the sound of a crying child. She looked up and saw Gideon standing by the glass windows with his hands in his pockets.
He was staring out the window while a beautiful young woman was speaking to him in an emotional manner. Meanwhile, a nanny was trying to stop a one-year-old baby from crying near the couches.
The steward that had led them into the house approached Gideon and said, "Mr. Kane and Ms. Holt are here, sir."
Upon hearing this, Gideon and the woman instantly turned toward Giselle.
When Gideon saw Giselle, the look on his face instantly changed. With a stiff expression, he quickly walked over to her and asked in a hushed voice, "What are you doing here, Giselle?"
Before the latter could answer, Donovan said coldly, "Since you're planning to marry her, you should tell her the truth in person."
Gideon glared at him. "You brought her here on purpose? You're the one who's stirring up trouble for me!"
"What is going on?" Giselle yelled.
She had a fair grasp of the situation now, but she still found it hard to believe.
"Didn't you say you were in the middle of an unexpected situation? Tell me—why didn't you show up today?" she demanded.
