Anne's body felt weak. Her mind was a mess, and she felt extremely desolate.

She did nothing as Zachary dragged her back to the car and shoved her into the backseat. She wasn't aware of what she'd just done or where she could possibly go.

Zachary only went after her to make sure she didn't do anything rash. He had no interest in making any small talk with her. So, he simply began to drive back home.

He got into the car accident half a year ago and went through a difficult recovery afterward. Because of what he'd been through, his mindset had changed a lot. He also handled matters with a lot more maturity now.

He still had some lingering feelings for Giselle. However, after finding out the truth about her relationship with Donovan, he didn't want to get entangled in such a messy situation anymore.

Since he hadn't gotten too involved with Giselle back then, he was still able to walk away from the situation before it was too late.

After he made a full recovery, he dated two women, one after another, in Usna. He had a blast, and he was almost over the hurt that Giselle had caused him.

By nighttime, the car rolled into the city. They were now surrounded by dazzling lights.

Anne gradually calmed down. Her gaze drifted to Zachary in the driver's seat. She stared at the side of his face and found that it faintly resembled Donovan's. Then, before she knew it, an idea began to form in her head.

More than ten minutes later, Zachary turned onto the street outside the Holt residence.

"You can drop me off here, Zach. I can head inside on my own," Anne said in a gentle voice.

He didn't think much of it and just stopped the car by the side of the road.

After parking the car, he noticed that Anne was slumped in the backseat. She looked like she didn't have the energy to even exit the car. So, he got out of the driver's seat and personally opened the door for her before helping her out of the vehicle.
