Giselle was distracted and didn't handle the Rottweiler in a proper manner. As a result, the dog abruptly began to struggle against her hold before it turned around and bit her arm.
Rottweilers were generally more vicious than other dog breeds. So, the dog that had suddenly become aggressive looked extremely terrifying.
When Giselle screamed in pain, her colleagues became shocked and instantly rushed over to help her. However, to their dismay, the dog's owner was still trying to soothe it in a slow and patient manner. On top of that, she didn't allow any of them to harm her dog either.
Coincidentally, Donovan, who'd rushed over to the clinic, happened to walk in as the shocking incident unfolded. Without a shred of hesitation, he grabbed the dog by the leg and flung it far away from Giselle.
The dog ended up scratching his hand. But before he could take a look at his own injury, he hastily grabbed Giselle's arm to check on it instead.
He then discovered that she'd been severely injured. Her wound was bleeding profusely. Her chest and her face were all scratched up too.
Upon seeing how ghastly her injuries were, he felt angry and heartbroken.
"Let's go to the hospital right now!" he yelled.
"That won't be necessary," Giselle said emotionlessly as she cupped her wound. "As a vet, getting injured by animals is a common occurrence. It's no big deal. I'll just dress my wound at the clinic myself."
Donovan didn't care about what she had to say. She had a deep gash on her arm. Because she was bitten by a dog, he felt like she needed to get a rabies shot at a proper hospital. She also needed to dress her wound properly in order to avoid any complications.
Before she could turn him down again, the branch manager said in a solemn manner, "Your injuries are too severe, Ms. Holt. I think it's better if you get it checked out at the hospital. I'll clean all of this up. What a mess."
As a veterinarian, Giselle sustained the most injuries during her first year on the job. After she became more experienced, injuries stopped happening. So, it was incredibly unusual for her to suddenly get bitten by a dog today.
