"Dorothea, you heard what this bitch said, didn't you?" Grace said, clutching Dorothea's arm. Her voice was sharp and venomous.
"This isn't just a question of character, Giselle is rotten to the core! She's a walking curse, a jinx who brings ruin to everyone around her. And to think she's Tony's daughter, too. Anne is a hundred times better than her!"
"Enough talk." Dorothea snapped, "Ethan, call the police right now!"
She was shaking with rage. Her chest heaved as she ordered Ethan to summon their acquaintances at the station to arrest Giselle.
"Are you done yet?" Donovan said, his expression darkening. His voice was low and threatening as he cut across them. "If you want me out of here sooner, then stop making trouble. Giselle is here because I asked her. No one but me has the right to tell her what to do. Get out, all of you!"
"You… You're completely bewitched!" Dorothea clutched at her chest, unable to hide her anguish.
The tension in the room had become so suffocating that even Giselle decided it wasn't worth dragging things out.
Dorothea was old. If Giselle really pushed her over the edge, she could very well be blamed for her death and end up in prison.
So she turned to Ethan, the only one who seemed rational, and said, "Mr. Kane, I won't elaborate on the accusations you just made. If you think there's a criminal matter involved, my lawyer will handle it, and you can liaise with him. That's all for today, and I'll be going now. Take care of him yourselves."
Giselle gave Donovan one last glance. Then, she picked up her things and walked out of the room.
Donovan's mood plummeted instantly when he watched her leave. Hearing his family still muttering angrily behind him, he suddenly clenched his fist and slammed it hard against the bed.
