Burn in the Alpha Princess’s Wrath
Chapter 447 Shattered Trust
Leslie’s POV
I arched a brow, playing dumb. “Sorry for what?”
His brows furrowed. “You don’t know?”
“Know what? Oh, my phone broke. Did you try calling me?”
When I showed no reaction, he let out a breath of relief. “I thought you were angry.”
“Angry? The ones being cursed online were Adler. Why would I be angry?”
Kirby stiffened, his eyes darkening. His voice carried a faint note of disappointment.
“You know. How could you not know?”

I curved my lips into a cold sneer. “Disappointed it didn’t work out the way you wanted? Such a cheap trick didn’t expect that from you.”
–
It was nothing more than an annoyance. No real harm done.
His face hardened, gloom spreading across his features. “I never meant to drag you into it. The morning incident was me. But the storm last night wasn’t.”
His voice was low, conflicted. “I’d never use that against you. I only wanted to warn Adler.”
I
gave a quiet laugh, calm as I looked at him. “It’s already happened. What good are excuses now? Slapping a false charge on someone counts as a warning?”
Agitated, his voice sharpened. “False? You think Adler’s clean? On the Eastern Continent, he’s tangled with his brother’s woman. Everyone knows it!”
I already knew. Better than he did.
His brother’s woman – wasn’t that little Eren’s mother?
Ugly, yes. But Adler had thrown away his reputation just to give Eren a name. That made him worthy of respect.
I lifted my head, meeting his gaze. “Kirby, don’t judge what you don’t understand.”
I paused, then cut deeper. “Didn’t you once get tangled with your brother’s sister?”
Liana was Jackie’s sister. All the things he did back then – all for her.

And now he waved around justice to condemn others?
Why not judge himself first?
Kirby froze, as if struck across the face. Shame and chill clouded his expression.
He fell silent, his eyes sinking into shadow.
Asphodel chuckled darkly. “Hit the sore spot.”
He leaned closer, his breath heavy, eyes storm–dark. “You don’t believe me. You’d rather believe Adler, is that it?”
I met his stare, calm. “I believe the facts.”
His breathing quickened, the edges of his eyes reddening with restrained fury. “Leslie, you can’t do this to me. I saved you. I’d give you my life. You can’t just turn and love someone else.”
His voice was hoarse, pleading.
Watching him unravel, I forced myself to stay composed.
