Chapter 449 Cornered
Slyvana’s POV

In the bedroom at Bloodrock Estate, the firelight from the hearth cast the curtains red. I stared at my phone the trending topic on the screen stabbed into my chest like a knife.
AMING
Those influencers I’d paid two hundred thousand
they dared to leak my chats and transfers?
The Crimson Moon Pack heiress’s name, ground into the dirt for all to see!
My wolf trembled, cursing me. Idiot, you trusted the wrong people!
My heart pounded like a drum, my head a storm of chaos.
It was over.
All that gentle, obedient act I’d put on in front of Kirby gone.
A knock came from downstairs. I flinched, took a deep breath, and forced myself to walk to the door.
The butler stood there, eyes conflicted, sighing. “Miss, Kirby called. Don’t leave your room. He’s on his way.”
My knees buckled. I almost collapsed.
Kirby wouldn’t spare me.
Those cold, merciless eyes of his
–
the thought alone made me shiver.
I couldn’t withstand the wrath of the Crimson Moon Alpha.
Panicked, I ran to the study and pushed the door open. Father sat at the desk, frowning at a file.
I threw myself at him, my voice shaking. “Father…”
It had been my
idea — bribing the influencers, fabricating rumors about Leslie and Adler. But Father had nodded his approval, even leaned on the media platforms to push it onto the trending page.
With Alpha Marcus‘ backing, I thought I was safe.
Who would have thought one of those influencers would sell me out?
Damn them!

Now the scheme had blown up, and Kirby’s fury hung over me like a blade waiting to fall.
Marcus bore half the blame!
My throat was raw from crying. “Father, I don’t want to be cast out again. I’m your daughter you have to protect me!”
He looked
up, his eyes dark, my sobbing clearly grating on his nerves.
Before I could speak again, the butler knocked softly on the door, warning, “Kirby has arrived…”
A shudder ripped through me, the words stuck in my throat.
The study door slammed open. Kirby strode in, crisp white shirt carrying a faint mint scent, his features cold as ice. The full force of the Crimson Moon Alpha’s dominance crushed down, suffocating.
His eyes swept over me, sharp as blades scraping skin.
My fists clenched the hem of my dress, terror clawing through me like wolf’s talons. It was over. This time it was truly over.
Kirby’s POV
The fire in the Bloodrock study painted the air heavy. I stood before Slyvana, rage boiling like a storm, waves crashing in my chest.
I thought exposing Alpha Marcus‘ schemes, stripping his power, would give Leslie her justice. But Slyvana – this fool – had meddled too.
I fixed my gaze on her, my eyes like knives. The Alpha’s presence hit her, and she collapsed onto the floor, legs limp.
She propped herself up, voice trembling. “I was wrong! I only wanted to help you and Leslie reconcile. I didn’t want her getting too close to Adler- if she hated him, she wouldn’t pay
him
attention, then you’d have your chance…”
Her eyes darted, desperate to scrub herself clean.
I didn’t believe a word.
Lance snorted, contempt dripping. “Nothing but lies.”
