Chapter 199
Chapter 199
Elder Gallant felt his body had run cold upon hearing what the king said, he didn’t dare to raise his head and meet his eyes, but so did the rest of the people in the war room, so his action was not out of place.
However, he denied the accusation vehemently.
“That’s a lie! I didn’t do it! I didn’t betray our kingdom and sell it to the enemies!” Elder Gallant knelt down in front of the king. “Please, don’t listen to the traitor, my king!”
Maximus shifted his attention back to the last traitor. “Barlukan money, huh? What else?”
He looked confused. “I don’t know what else do you want to know, my king… I… I don’t know. He is a traitor too. He will be…”
“So, aside from Barlukan money, you know nothing else?”
The warrior was trying to think hard about what he was going to say next, but the answer was very obvious. He didn’t know what else aside from the Barlukan money that he mentioned earlier.
And before he could say anything else, Maximus had beheaded him. The process was very quick and swift, the warrior must not realize it when life was drained out of his body, and his head rolled on the floor.
“Everyone can have Barlukan money.” Maximus wiped the blood from his hand on the tablecloth and then turned around to face all of the people there. “Meeting adjourned, we will continue two hours from now. Ask someone to clean this up.”
Maximus then walked out of the war room, but he asked one of the senior warriors to come with him.
“Yes, my king?” Owen asked the king in a small voice when he managed to catch up with him. He was one of the senior warriors, who came to the main gates with Rania.
“I want you to do something…”

Jasmine woke up with a start. She had a terrible nightmare and when she woke up, her whole body was trembling.
She looked around her, but she didn’t know where she was. Killian was sleeping next to her on the cold ground of the forest.
Two warriors were chatting in the distance, talking about something that Jasmine couldn’t hear clearly.
She was disoriented, and her mind was spinning when a lot of memories burst in her head. They were running away, the royal warriors, the confession, the baby, the frustration, anger and then… sorrow.
Jasmine felt a deep sorrow in her heart, as if there was something important that she forgot, but she needed to remember, yet there was also this fear that she couldn’t explain, creeping in her heart. She was scared.
She didn’t want to remember the cause of her deep sorrow, but her heart remembered. Her heart was unable
to forget.
But, what?
What was the thing that she needed to remember? What was the thing that she was afraid of?
It didn’t make sense at all.
Jasmine looked around her. Killian, Elena, the twin… but someone was missing; Adrian.
“Where is Adri… an?”
When she finished saying the name, she remembered what happened to her younger brother. He died. He died during the pursuit.
He fell from the cliff and died.
“Adrian…?” Jasmine looked around her, as if she hoped this was only her dream, or her memories were wrong. Her little brother was still alive and he was sleeping somewhere.
But, after she looked around, she still couldn’t find him.
“Adrian? Adrian! ADRIAN!”
Jasmine became hysterical, because the memory of Adrian’s dead became too real for her to deny. This was the answer of her question. This was the deepest sorrow that she tried to forget.
Suddenly, the quiet night was filled with her screams.
“ADRIAN! ADRIAN!” Jasmine screamed on the top of her lungs, waking up all of the people there.
Killian was quick to cover her mouth, to stop her from screaming, but Jasmine fought him back. “Are you out of your mind?! You are going to kill us all!” Killian was very angry, even though he understood why Jasmine was like this.
“Don’t be too harsh with her,” Elena said gently, because she felt bad for Jasmine, especially when she was pregnant. “She is pregnant, don’t be too hard on her.”
The baby. The baby!
Jasmine wanted to kill the baby! She didn’t want it!
And Killan could sense Jasmine’s sadness turned into rage. “Don’t say anything, Mom!” he reprimanded his mother lightly before he focused on Jasmine again.
“Make her quiet! We are going to die if someone from the royal warriors heard her!” Gerald was upset, he was looking around, while the other warrior did the same thing nervously.
But they couldn’t ask Killian to shut Jasmine up, because they understand what she was gong through right
now.
