Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 2182

He wanted to laugh, but found he simply couldn’t.

The police had arrived and were sweeping the place. “Ms. Zade, did you call us?”

“That’s right. Someone broke into my home and trashed my things.”

The officers headed straight for Tyler, only to realize they actually recognized him.

After all, Tyler was something of a household name—he’d starred in a string of hit TV dramas, given plenty of interviews, and that bone structure of his put most leading men to shame. He had more fans than half the actors in town.

The officers hesitated for a split second, surprised, but they still reached for his arm. “Tyler, we need you to come with us.”

By now, Tyler had regained his composure. He looked at Athena’s expressionless face, and suddenly, a brittle smile appeared on his lips.

“So, I got a mole removed and now I look nothing like him. That’s all it took for you to cut me off, isn’t it?”

His words were airy, laced with biting sarcasm.

Athena met his gaze head on. She reached out, grabbed his chin, and turned his face from side to side, her words as cold as ice.

“You’re right. You really don’t look like him at all anymore.”

The blow landed hard. Tyler felt as if his heart had shattered into pieces.

He didn’t say another word. Head bowed, he followed the officers out.

The police escorted him away. Athena didn’t follow; she stayed behind, quietly picking up the wreckage of her living room.

When Tyler got into the squad car, he stared blankly out the window. He’d spent his life writing melodrama, but he’d never imagined one day he’d be the tragic stand-in in someone else’s story.

How dare Athena do this to him?

How could she?

He felt like he could choke on his own misery.
