Tyler finally let go, rolling his shoulders with a casual shrug. “Fine. Whatever you want.”
His words sounded light and breezy, as if he couldn’t care less. If it weren’t for the faint redness at the corner of his eyes, anyone would have believed he was truly indifferent.
But Athena didn’t notice. She assumed he was just bored, a little sore from being dumped, his pride bruised and unwilling to let things go—so here he was, causing trouble again out of sheer stubbornness.
A man like Tyler? There was no way he could be sincere. And even if he was, Athena had zero interest in that kind of vulnerability.
Tyler stood outside the restaurant for a while, making no move to leave. He just watched as Athena hailed a cab and disappeared into the night.
Then he pulled out his phone and called Ian, asking him out for drinks.
Ian didn’t hesitate—he showed up that same night. He brought Fitch along too, half-expecting the evening to end in some sort of disaster.
When the two of them walked into the private lounge, they found Tyler already several bottles deep.
“Tyler, what’s going on here?” Ian asked, eyeing the empty bottles.
Tyler looked up, his eyes glassy and unfocused. “Quit standing there gawking. Sit down, both of you. Nobody’s leaving sober tonight.”
Ian exchanged a glance with Fitch. This wasn’t normal—who went out drinking alone just to wallow?
“What’s up with you?” Ian pressed.
Tyler forced a laugh. “Nothing, man. Just felt like drinking, that’s all.”
Fitch, as usual, barely said a word. He just sat there, as stiff and silent as a piece of furniture.
Ian gathered up the bottles, swapping Tyler’s glass for a cup of juice. “Cut the crap. What’s really going on?”
As soon as he asked, Tyler ducked his head, his shoulders trembling.
Ian thought he was laughing—after all, people’s shoulders shook when they laughed, right? “What’s so funny?”
He turned Tyler toward him, only to see tears clinging to his friend’s eyelashes.
“Damn! Fitch, look at this—he’s actually crying.”

The readers' comments on the novel: Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja)
Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson. Also, a little write-up on Jeff (Ian's assistant) love life, too. Thanks, author for updating....
When will get update?...
What is wrong that the author has not updated this novel in over a month or is there somewhere else that I can continue reading the novel from chapter 1951 upwards? Do tell, please. Thanks....
