Delete My Love for You novel Chapter 288

After a brief hush fell over both the auditorium and the livestream, Charlotte suddenly moved.

She strode over to the volunteer who’d had the chip implanted and spoke evenly, “Just now, your language skills were no more than reciting a memorized passage. Now, I want you to tell a joke in Ruritanian—a real joke, not something you’ve read. Let’s hear it.”

“I…” The volunteer faltered, his words dying in his throat as he cast an awkward look at Jordan.

Jordan quickly pulled out his phone, searched for a short joke, and handed the screen to the volunteer.

The volunteer glanced at the phone, then smoothly translated the joke into Ruritanian, word for word.

When he finished, Jordan puffed up triumphantly. “See that, Lottie? It’s just a joke—nothing at all for the chip! Watch how easily it handles it!”

Charlotte smiled. “I did see. The chip can translate, sure, but that’s all—there’s no creativity or independent thought involved.”

“That’s not true!” Jordan’s confidence wavered, but he pressed on, forcing a smile. “He can do it—just give him a little time to think, and he’ll manage!”

Jordan shot the volunteer a look, urging him on.

The volunteer clutched his head, struggling to squeeze out a few words. “Elephant… in the fridge… I—I can’t… My mind’s all jumbled. I can’t come up with anything…”

Jordan’s face fell.

Charlotte then handed the volunteer a surgical scalpel, her voice calm but firm. “Now, your brain has just been loaded with the world’s leading surgical procedures. I’m giving you this scalpel—go ahead, perform a heart bypass.”

“No… I can’t!” The volunteer recoiled, tossing the scalpel away in terror.

A moment later, his face went ghostly pale, and he collapsed right there, unconscious. People rushed him to the hospital.
