Sienna’s laughter rang out–clear, crisp, and unnervingly cold. While it was pleasant to hear, it somehow made one’s neck tingle with unease.
In an instant, the air seemed to freeze, turning icy.
The Fairbank family members shivered involuntarily, raising their hands to rub the coldness that had settled. on their necks.
Sienna raised her gaze slightly, her icy–clear eyes settling quietly on Hazel.
Sienna’s eyes were cold and unreadable, showing not a flicker of emotion.
That look alone made Hazel stumble back, clutching her chest as her heart thudded violently.
Hazel looked at Sienna, fear evident in her gaze.
It took a moment for Hazel to realize just how badly she had reacted, and a wave of humiliation hit her like a punch to the gut.
Her face turned pale, and the humiliation she felt earlier was quickly replaced by fury. She yelled angrily, “What are you laughing at? You’ve got no right to laugh!
“You ungrateful wretch! Last time at the Moon Restaurant, we nearly went to jail because of you! And now you’ve gone and seduced Jessica’s fiancé, forcing him into that ridiculous racing bet just to get rid of you!
“You’ve ruined our family–you should be the one to bear all our losses!”
The more Hazel went on, the more she felt justified in her anger.
Hazel pointed at the black Maybach that Sienna had just pulled up in, her tone growing sharper. “Since you’ve managed to seduce the Brown family’s heir, you can deal with this. Tie up the loose ends… properly.” Her voice faltered on the last word.
Hazel’s bravado, held up with great effort, instantly collapsed under Sienna’s cold, unyielding gaze.
‘How can a country girl like her have such an intimidating aura?‘ Hazel thought. ‘Unbelievable… Can’t believe Sienna’s actually freaking me out!‘
“W–why are you still staring? J–just go already!” Hazel swallowed hard, lifting her chin as best she could, trying to summon the air of authority she once held as Sienna’s mother.
Sienna’s lips curved in a faint, mocking smile. “You really don’t know your place, do you?”
Hazel froze, eyes widening in disbelief.
‘Did she just-? Did Sienna just talk back to me? How dare she?‘ Hazel thought.
The Sienna she used to know had always been meek and obedient, desperate to please.

Hazel was livid. “Sienna, do you really think sleeping with Mr. Brown means you’ve made it? You’re nothing but a cheap little tramp–just like your lowborn parents from the slums!”
Sienna’s eyes turned ice–cold, all warmth disappearing in an instant.
“Ah!” A sharp cry pierced the air.
Before anyone could react, Sienna had already grabbed a fistful of Jessica’s carefully styled hair–and yanked hard.
The vicious yank made Jessica feel like her scalp was being torn right off–her agonized scream echoed through the air, raw and piercing.
Smack!
Sienna delivered a brutal slap, landing hard across Jessica’s face.
Jessica let out an even more heart–wrenching cry, instinctively trying to break free from Sienna’s grip.
However, the more Jessica struggled, the deeper the pain tore through her. Her body convulsed, folding forward in agony, leaving her utterly shaken and disheveled.
Blood trickled from the corner of her mouth.
“Jessica!” Hazel froze for a second, stunned by Sienna’s cold gaze and sudden violence, before she finally snapped out of it and rushed forward. “You wretched girl–how dare you hit my daughter!”
Sienna’s lips curved, but the smile never touched her eyes.
She yanked Jessica’s hair downward again, harder this time.
Overwhelmed by the pain, Jessica let out relentless, piercing screams.
Just as Hazel lunged forward, Sienna swung her leg, delivering a fierce kick to Jessica’s stomach.
Thud!
The impact knocked the air out of Jessica. Jessica flew backward, landing several feet away with a sickening crash.
Curling on the floor, Jessica clutched her abdomen, trembling so violently she could not even cry out–only low, broken whimpers escaped her lips.
Hazel lunged but missed, nearly stumbling to the ground.
“Jessica! My baby!” Hazel rushed over, shaking with fury and fear. Pointing a trembling finger at Sienna, she yelled, “You think a man’s protection makes you untouchable? I can ruin you–ruin your whole family—”
“Mrs. Fairbank.” Sienna’s tone was cool and menacing; an oppressive stillness settled over the room. “Speak

another obscenity, and I will take my anger out on your daughter. Try me–see which hurts more: my blows or your insults.”
Hazel’s threat cut off mid–sentence.
Sienna’s stare was merciless and cold.
All the curses that had been on Hazel’s tongue died in her throat. She could not force a single word out. Only harsh, ragged breaths escaped her lips.
Xavier narrowed his eyes, fixing his gaze on Sienna, who seemed familiar, yet somehow unfamiliar at the same time.
Sienna’s looks had not changed–but the vibe she gave off, the way she held herself, was completely different from the Sienna he remembered.
Xavier remembered Sienna as a child raised by their grandmother in the countryside–timid and shy the moment she entered the Fairbank household.
