Sienna had just stepped out of the car when a middleaged butler in a sharp uniform greeted her with a warm smile.

Miss Cooper, welcome to the villa. I’m the house butler. You can call me Ben,” he said.

Sienna nodded. Nice to meet you, Ben.

Ben bowed slightly, his manner respectful yet never ingratiating.

He was a true professional, guiding Sienna through the villa while giving her a detailed rundown of all the security features and access controls.

Sienna picked it up quickly. With just a few swipes on the control panel, she had the entire villa’s defense system completely mastered.

Cameras with zero blind spots, motioncapturing everywhere, smart alarms, and toptier antiintrusion setupsnothing got past this place.

Just as Mason said, the security system there could easily rival the Ministry of National Defense.

Even if those Baletin guys tried sneaking in, they’d be dropping like flies just trying to get past all these defenses.

That would give her more than enough time to respond and take control of the situation.

Sienna couldn’t help but feel impressed.

Once she had the whole system down pat, Sienna started checking out the villa.

The interior had cool colors, and the space was open with views that stretched for miles.

This place is exactly my taste,Sienna thought, nodding to herself in satisfaction.

After spending so long in rooms covered in pink and white, this place with its sleek and simple vibe is exactly what I need. Sienna thought, feeling a wave of relief.

Honestly, it’s so much nicer to live somewhere with a clean, minimalist feel,Sienna mused, a small smile tugging at her lips

Just then, Sienna heard a car engine outside the villa.

It was Mason.

He was dressed in a black shirt, with fitted trousers that flattered his long, straight legs, standing tall and cutting a striking figure.

Trailing behind him was a woman in her forties, gentlefeatured, with a build best described as sturdy and broad-

shouldered.

So, how do you like the place?Mason called out, catching sight of Sienna in the hall, his eyes gleaming with that signature. irresistible charm.

Not bad,Sienna nodded.

Mason strode over, stopping right in front of Sienna. He tilted his chin toward the woman behind him. That’s Anne. She’s a wizard in the kitchen. Just tell her anything you’re craving, and she’ll make it.

Anne beamed at Sienna. Hi, Miss Cooper. If you need anything, just say the word anytime.

Sienna gave Anne a closer look.

55 youchers

Anne had a gentle face, her apron spotless, but the way she moved was all steady confidenceevery step deliberate, her breathing slow and controlled, and her knuckles were rough with old calluses.

No way those came from just doing chores in the kitchen.

She’s definitely trained, not just any average cook, and definitely not someone to underestimate, Sienna thought.

Sienna nodded. Nice to meet you, Anne.”

After greeting Sienna, Anne smiled at Mason. I’ll take your luggage upstairs for you, sir.

eyes flicked over the minimalist grayblack suitcase, then gave Mason an unapologetic onceover, taking in how his shirt hugged his lean, athletic build. You really don’t know what kind of mess you’re getting into with me? Aren’t you even a little afraid of me moving in?

Mason suddenly leaned closer, his presence tightening between themhis scent, sharp and woody like pine and smoke, lingering in the air.

His grin curled at the edges, careless yet undeniably bewitching. Trust me, I know exactly what I’m getting into. That’s the whole point. I’m here to protect you.

Sienna shot him a skeptical look. You? Really think you’re up for it?

Mason’s eyes glinted with mischief, and that icy, devilishly handsome face broke into a slow, wicked smile.

His voice dropped to a low, magnetic drawl, lingering on the last word like a lover’s tease. Why don’t you try me and see how good I am?

Sienna just rolled her eyes at Mason, who was practically strutting around like a peacock showing off his feathers. She couldn’t even be bothered to respond.

With her hands stuffed in her pockets, she headed straight for the stairs. So, where am I crashing?

Got plenty of rooms here, each with its own vibe. Take your pickwhatever you want,Mason called from behind, a playful edge in his voice.

He let out that low, velvety laugh, drawing out each word like he was putting on a show. Or, you could just stay in the master bedroom. It’s the best spot in the house, insane views, and the bed’s massive. I wouldn’t mind sharing it with you.

Sienna didn’t even bother turning around. Yeah, well, but I do mind.

Watching Mason flaunt that outrageous, flirty smile, Sienna was pretty much unfazed by his shameless peacock act at this point,

She headed upstairs.

Sienna scanned the second floor, sizing up each empty room like she was strategizing her next move.

In the end, she made her way to one of the guest rooms off to the side.

The spot she chose was perfectly positioned right by the villa’s front entrance. She’d have eyes on everything that mattered and could call the shots in a split second if anything went down.

Chapter 148

Just as Sienna was about to push open the door, Mason reached out from behind and gently caught her wrist.

His touch was soft, deliberately slowing her down.

Even though his grip wasn’t strong, it did the trick, and Sienna stopped.

She turned to face him.

Mason’s fingers, cool against her skin, curled around her wrist and lifted it with careful intent.

His brows knitted as his gaze fell to the back of her hand.

Her hand, soft and smooth, bore a scar so vivid that it was impossible to ignore.

Mason’s frown grew even deeper. You got home and didn’t bother putting anything on it? Seriously?

Sienna tried to pull her hand away. It’s basically fine now. I don’t need any more treatment.

After Mason had patched her up last time, Sienna barely even gave the wound a second thought.

It hadn’t really hurt to begin with, and once the bleeding stopped, she just brushed it off like it was nothing.

You can’t just brush it off like that,Mason said, tightening his grip on her hand. Take care of it, unless you actually want a scar to remember all this by.”

Saying that, he gently steered her into the room opposite. From now on, I’m personally watching you apply your medicine until your hand looks good as new.

His tone made it clear that he wasn’t taking no for an answer.

As he pulled out a firstaid kit from his suitcase, Mason said, If you end up with a scar, and your grandfather or your par see it, don’t you think they’ll be worried sick?

Sienna’s long, ravenlike lashes fluttered as she watched Mason approach with the kit in his hand.

Her heart gave a little flutter.

You even went out of your way to bring a firstaid kit?she asked.

Figured you’d just shrug off that injury, so I came prepared,Mason said, set the firstaid kit on the couch, and crouched down in front of Sienna. Looks like I was spot on.

As he crouched, his shirt stretched taut, highlighting his lean waist and those sleek, cut lines beneath the fabric.

The sexual tension between them was heavy in the air, especially when Mason crouched before her, cradling her hand hike it was the rarest treasure in the world, the sensual tension between them practically crackling in the air.
