Chapter 150

Mason’s voice was low and husky, carrying a lazy, laidback drawl.

But there wasn’t any response inside.

If it weren’t for the fact that this villa was locked down with tight security and the only way out was the front door, Mason might’ve really thought Sienna had snuck out through the window.

She’s still just a young girl,Mason thought to himself. ‘No matter how much I peacock, I gotta remember where to draw the line

Mason didn’t keep knocking. Instead, he asked Anne to go and check on Sienna.

There’d been no movement from her all afternoon, and she wasn’t even responding to dinner.

He couldn’t help but feel a bit worried.

Anne warmed up a cup of milk and knocked on Sienna’s bedroom door.

When Sienna heard Anne outside, she answered in a polite tone, Come in.”

Anne glanced at Mason and raised the cup of milk in her hand.

Mason’s long, flirtatious eyes narrowed, amusement flickering within.

Well, look at you, SiennaMason mused, a hint of teasing in his thoughts. So that’s how it is, huh? Only gonna answer her? Playing favorites now?

He chuckled softly, lifted his chin, and signaled for Anne to go inside.

Anne shot Mason, whose face looked a little chilly, a glance, and cleared her throat. Miss Cooper, I’m coming in.

With that, she pushed the door open and walked in.

She even thoughtfully left the door slightly ajar, just enough for Mason to sneak a look inside if he felt like it.

When the door swung open, Mason couldn’t help but cast a curious glance inside.

The main lights were off. Only a dim desk lamp glowed warmly by the table, splashing soft yellow across the room.

Bathed in that gentle light, Sienna sat quietly at her desk, head bowed and focused, pen in hand, lost in whatever she was sketching.

Loose strands of hair framed her face, highlighting the sharp, elegant lines of her profile. She had that icy, breathtaking beauty that made her look cool and impossible to ignore.

At the sound of footsteps outside, Sienna lifted her eyes.

Her bright, cool gaze glimmered with a starlit glow under the warm lamp.

She looked over at Anne, reached out to get the milk, and said softly, Thanks, Anne, I still have a few things to finish up here, so please go ahead and eat. I don’t want to keep everyone waiting.

Anne shot a quick, furtive glance toward Mason, standing at the doorway.

Seeing Mason nod in acknowledgment, she finally spoke, Miss Cooper, I’ll head out now. Just remember to come out for dinner once you’re finished.”

After Anne left, Mason leaned against the wall, his gaze lingering on Sienna, wrapped up in the soft amber pool of lamplight.

She was so deep in her own little world that he didn’t even get the tiniest glancenot even a crumb of attention.

Mason sighed quietly. Sienna’s such a workaholic,’ he thought, a wry smile tugging at his lips. Once she’s in the zone, not even dinner, or me, can pull her out of it.’

He didn’t bother her anymore, just turned and went downstairs, telling Anne, Keep the food warm. Wait till she’s finished before clearing anything.

Anne nodded.

And just like that, another few hours slipped by.

During that time, Anne stopped by Sienna’s room twiceonce to bring her another cup of warm milk, and the other time with a few delicate pastries, making sure she had something light to nibble on as she worked.

Every time Anne stepped out of Sienna’s room, Mason, who’d been waiting not far off, would immediately glance over.

Anne shook her head. Miss Cooper only drank half of the milk and ate one pastry. She said not to worry about her and told us to get some rest.”

Mason glanced at the clock. Anne, it’s late. You should get some rest.

But he couldn’t sleep at all.

He glanced at Sienna’s room again and let out a sigh.

[Seriously, what am I supposed to do when the girl I’m chasing is a total workaholic? Anyone got tips? Hit me up. This is urgent!] Mason asked online, a wry smile tugging at his lips.

Time flew by.

By 2:30 in the morning, Sienna finally put her pen down and stretched, aching from hours of nonstop work.

She lifted her gaze, staring out at the inkblack sky through her window.

She got to her feet, shoved open her door, and slipped out of her room.

The core of her design draft was finally done, and the rush of accomplishment made her feel wired. As the excitement faded, she suddenly noticed just how hungry she was. The hunger came on strong once she let herself relax.

Sienna rubbed her empty stomach, thinking, Gotta grab something to eat first, then I’ll come back and finish up the

revision.’

She’d barely made it to the kitchen door when she spotted the soft, golden glow shining inside.

Standing by the stove was Mason, tall and lean, with a casually thrown on dark bathrobe draped over him. The belt was loosely tied, the collar open, showing off his welldefined chest.

The open robe revealed glimpses of his toned abs, tempting yet subtle.

His hair was still dampclearly fresh from the shower.

Under the mellow kitchen light, Mason looked like some wickedly charming fox, wild, enticing, and impossible to ignore.

She had to admit, after a long day drained by work and mental effort, seeing him standing there was a sight for sore eyes.

Hearing footsteps, Mason turned his head slightly.

When he spotted Sienna, those famously mischievous eyes of his, halflidded and glowing warm under the kitchen light. instantly curved into a grin that drew people right in.

Just that little tilt at the corner of his eye was dangerously captivatinglike a devil in a pretty face, tempting as a forbidden spell.

Well, look who finally came out of hidingthe busy bee herself,” Mason teased, voice low, rich, and undeniably charming.

He reached out and handed Sienna a mug of warm milk.

Sienna accepted it and took a sip.

A wave of warmth settled over her stomach, soothing away her hunger.

And somehow, that cozy feeling seemed to seep right into her heart.

She sipped her milk, unable to look away as Mason stood at the stove, expertly plating up the food from the pot.

With every movement, the loose collar of his robe showed off flashes of his toned chest. Those muscles caught the light and made it impossible for Sienna not to get distracted.

She looked away, trying to play it cool. Why are you still up so late?

Mason’s long fingers played idly with the spatula, a mischievous grin on his lips. How could I head off to bed when the princess hasn’t had dinner yet? Of course, I’ve got to be on standby, ready to servein bed, oh wait, I mean serve dinner

He acted like he’d almost let his real thoughts slip out by mistake. But honestly, he wasn’t fooling anyone.

Sienna gave him a sideways glance.

Mason lounged over to pick up the plate. Go on, grab a seat. Food’s coming right up.
