But Beatriz immediately saw through Amanda’s plan and softly shook her head, stopping her before she could say another word.

Still, she kept her face perfectly innocent, only nodding with that hurt, pitiful look. “I get it, Mom. Beatriz was in the wrong. Why would I ever take it out on Sienna?”

“Good, so long as you get it,” Pansy said, but she couldn’t help feeling a little fed up seeing Amanda’s sulking, miserable expression.

She sighed. “Enough with the tears. Go calm down in your room, or just sit down and eat–whatever you

want.”

Amanda knew she couldn’t just walk away.

If she left now, wouldn’t Sienna just gloat even harder? Amanda could practically see her strutting around, acting like she owned the whole family.

She’d already lost all her leverage.
