From a Wrong Turn to Mr. Right novel Chapter 370

Olivia Bennett smiled warmly at him and nodded. "Yeah, I’ve got loads. Grandma left me a whole box, and I brought them all over a while back."

Damian Franklin perked up, visibly excited. "Really? Can I see them?"

"Of course! I’ll go grab them."

Olivia had just started to stand when Ethan Carter gently stopped her. "Sit down—I’ll get them."

He knew exactly where they were, and Olivia didn’t argue. "Alright, thanks."

Ethan was quick. In less than two minutes, he was back downstairs, carrying a shoebox with faded stickers on the lid.

Olivia lifted the lid and handed the box to Damian. "They’re all in here—even some of Grandma’s."

Damian reached in and pulled out a photo, probably of Olivia when she was six or seven. She looked so different—he’d never seen her like that before.

Aileen grinned, clearly amused and happy. Damian, on the other hand, felt a strange ache behind his eyes.

Adelina Lane picked up another picture and glanced from it to little Carey, who was busy playing with a toy truck in the corner. "Wow," she said, surprised, "Carey does look just like Olivia when she was little."

Curious, Olivia glanced over. The one Adelina held was from when she was about two, wearing a frilly princess dress and flashing a peace sign with her right hand, her smile beaming.

As everyone reminisced, Damian’s gaze lingered on the photo, his voice soft and distant. "I took this one."

Everyone looked at him, and Olivia nodded. "Yeah, that’s what Grandma always said, too."

Beatty, who couldn’t see from her spot, started stamping her feet impatiently. "Beatty wants to see!"

"Okay, okay, here you go," Adelina said, laughing as she handed Beatty the photo.

Beatty’s face lit up as she took it, but then suddenly her smile faded. She stared at the photo of little Olivia, her expression growing distant and confused, as if the world around her was going fuzzy.

And then, out of nowhere, a memory hit her like a wave—so vivid she could practically smell the garden. A man was in the yard, camera in hand, gently coaxing a little girl to look his way. "Olivia, sweetheart, look over here," he said, patient and loving.
