Chapter 215
“Delilah will arrive a bit later; we’ll head over first,” Sean said, straightened up, and opened the car door for them.
After Claire entered the car, Josie stayed still. She turned her head to look at Sean and suddenly felt very happy.
Why are you smiling?” Sean asked, raising his hand to pinch her cheek.
Josie did not shy away; instead, she nuzzled against his palm and said, “Nothing; I’m just happy to see you.”
She was like a docile cat, coming over and rubbing against him so he could pet her.
Sean was momentarily stunned; his palm grew a little warm, and his heart thumped, somewhat out of control.
Before he could react, the cheeky girl, having finished flirting with him, had turned around and slipped into the car.
Sean laughed in exasperation. ‘This little rascal is simply too much!‘ he thought to himself.
The seminar was held at a large downtown venue. When they arrived, they happened to see Audrey get out of the car, accompanied by Natalie.
On such a cold day, Natalie was wearing a dress. Although she had a coat on, her legs were exposed.
A gust of cold wind made her shiver uncontrollably, giving off a hint of that stunning, chill beauty.
Josie remembered that, in her previous life, Natalie had relied on her looks to seduce and manipulate many people, and those individuals ultimately became stepping stones for her rise.
It appeared that the mother and daughter were still reluctant to forgo this shortcut.
“Let’s go inside!” Claire Wilcourt tugged at her and gestured for her to enter the venue.
The three were behind the Kinberg mother and daughter. Upon reaching the entrance, Sean presented the invitation letter.
“Josie? Before the three entered, Josie heard a familiar voice calling out. It was Atuden
How did you end up here?” Upon seeing Josie, Aiden looked conflicted. “This is not a place you are allowed to be Do you know what kind of people are present at today’s event?” he said
He instinctively wanted to drive Josie out. ‘Let me tell you, everyone who came today has an invitation letter It’s impossible that they sent you one. You sneaked in, didn’t you?
“Come with me. I’ll take you out so you won’t get caught and embarrassed later Aiden said.
Josie shook off Aiden’s outstretched hand and said. “It’s not you who will feel embarrassed, so why are you so

“I’m doing this for your own good. Don’t mess around. Hurry up, I’ll take you out,” Aiden said, looking genuinely anxious as if he truly feared someone would discover her.
Sean, who had followed in, stepped before him and asked, “Where do you want to take her?”
‘Sean?‘ Seeing the man before him, Aiden’s eyes nearly blazed with anger. “Since when have you also been invited to events like this?”
Sean gave him a dismissive smile and said, “I’m afraid you don’t know about this. The Reedshaw family receives the invitation every year. My previous absence doesn’t mean I’m not qualified to attend.”
After speaking, he took Josie by her hand and led her inside. “Let me introduce you to people in the circle,‘ he said.
“Did you bring Josie here?” Aiden caught up with them and asked.
“Have you thought about the consequences? She’s not qualified to be here at all. Aren’t you afraid she’ll be kicked out soon?”
“The organizers only look at the invitation; they never bother to verify anyone’s qualifications. So, Aiden, are you planning to report this? Do you want them to throw Josie out?” Sean sneered coldly and said.
“Go ahead if you want to report. I’d like to see if they’d listen to you and chase Josie out,” Sean continued.
Aiden gritted his teeth and said, “I never said I was going to report; I’m just worried about Josie.”
“As long as you shut up, I won’t have any trouble.” Josie, sounding a bit impatient, said, “Don’t you have better things to do than watch me? What did I ever do to you that you can’t stay away from me?”
Aiden’s face turned pale at her words. His expression practically spelled out one thing: “ungrateful and ignorant of what is good for her.”
