Chapter 260 Three Bears
Francis didn’t dodge or flinch. He kept his eyes locked on the tiger and raised his rifle.

Just as the tiger was about to pounce, he ducked low and slid forward about three feet, using the ground’s friction to move.
At the exact same moment, the tiger leaped right over Francis, missing him by a hair.
Its sharp claws only managed to shred the corner of Francis’s coat.
He was under the tiger’s soft belly, and he immediately opened fire on its abdomen!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
He slid out of the way as the wounded tiger stumbled and fell to the ground.
Tranquilizer!” Francis shouted.
A soldier holding a dart gun quickly moved in and fired before the tiger could get back up.
The tiger dropped instantly.
Caroline watched as the tranquilizer darts on the tiger’s back–the green liquid from the weird gun the soldier was holding–quickly injected into its body within seconds.
It was out cold instantly.
“Haha! A mutant tiger! Commander Ball’s gonna love this. Come on, haul it back to the truck!”
Francis handed his rifle to a soldier next to him.
He bit down on his lollipop and grinned proudly.
They pulled several metal rods out of Francis’s big truck, and the soldiers expertly assembled them into a giant cage,
The mutant tiger was locked inside.
They didn’t kill it because it was rare and valuable for research. Francis planned to bring it back to Nathaniel’s lab and take the credit.
“Holy cow! I can’t believe that guy is such a badass!” Denton exclaimed loudly, having watched everything from the car.

Even Caroline was impressed.

Francis usually acted like a slacker, but he was seriously impressive when commanding a
battle.
He got back into the truck, chewing on what was left of his lollipop. He stomped his boots twice to shake off the snow. “Man, it’s freezing out there. Feels like it’s getting colder every day.”
The temperature had started dropping two nights ago.
Now it was close to -140 F.
From what they’d learned in the previous timeline, it would soon hit -170 F–the coldest point of the deep freeze.
After that, it would warm up a bit.
Then, out of nowhere, the temperature would shoot up fast.
Just when everyone thought the apocalypse was ending and the disasters were over, the world would pull a cruel joke, sending them straight into the great heat.
Caroline didn’t respond to Francis.
She stayed alert, eyes scanning the area.
From her experience, if there was a mutant tiger, there were always other mutant creatures nearby.
“What other animals were in the circus?”
Caroline suddenly turned to Denton.
Denton blinked, confused. “Huh? Caroline, I… I’ve never been to a circus.”
Before meeting Tyler, Denton had grown up as a lonely orphan–no family, no fun, definitely
no circus visits.
Francis, sitting up front, laughed and asked, “What’s wrong, Caroline? Wanna see an animal show? Maybe later I can get a couple of my soldiers–the ones who act like monkeys–to do a comedy routine for you
But he quickly caught Caroline’s worried look, stopped talking, and said, “Oh man, don’t tell me our luck is that bad! One isn’t enough?”
