Ryan’s eyes flickered. He murmured, “Just a friendly tip: don’t make people out to be simpler than they are. Even for the Grant family, 30 million dollars isn’t pocket change. They wouldn’t hand it over easily. Be careful you don’t end up losing everything.”

Freya went alert. “What do you mean?”

Ryan said, “Nothing special. You can figure it out.”

Suddenly Freya received a text. It was from the bank. Her account had been credited with 30 million dollars.

‘That was fast,’ Freya thought.

Ryan saw it too and was about to comment when his phone rang. The caller ID read [Wild Dog].

‘Wild Dog?’ Freya wondered.

Then Ryan answered, “Liam?”

Freya was stunned. ‘Ryan has Liam saved as ‘Wild Dog?’ She couldn’t tell whether that was meant as a compliment or an insult.

Liam’s voice came through the receiver. “Ryan, sorry to bother you at a time like this. I know it’s awkward, but I really need your help. Are you available to talk now?”

Ryan glanced at Freya, turned toward the bedroom, and said, “If it’s inconvenient, didn’t you just call? I can’t hang up. So what is it?”

Liam said, “Freya’s photos with that old man somehow shot to the top of the trend. I want them taken down as soon as possible, and I want to find out who did it.”

Ryan didn’t answer right away. He asked, “Are you sure you want to look into it?”

“Yes. Anyone who bullied Freya has to pay,” Liam replied.

“Liam, I suggest you think this through,” Ryan warned.

Liam asked, “Are you going to stop me?”

Ryan replied, “I’m not that free, I’m just reminding you: you probably already have an idea who paid to push those photos to the top. If you find out the truth, what are you actually going to do?”

As expected, there was immediate silence on the other end.

Those photos had originally been locked down by Liam. The only people who had copies were the photographer, Ryan, Liam himself, and Liam’s parents.

Liam himself didn’t do it, and Ryan had been ‘busy’ lately, so the answer was obvious.
