“How do you know about my father?” Freya asked.

Joseph’s voice carried a hint of mockery. “You’ve been married to Liam for years. How could I know nothing about you?”

Freya’s expression turned serious, her grip tightening on her phone. “What did you mean just now? What does my father’s hotel have to do with you?”

“I own the property rights to your dad’s hotel now.”

“What?”

“Those who set your dad up years ago have gambled away all the money they swindled from him. They even owed a huge debt. So, they sold the hotel to me at a low price.”

Freya instantly grew alert. Ryan had warned her before that Joseph and Madison were no angels. If she went there alone, God knew what might happen.

Joseph continued, his tone coaxing. “Come over to talk face-to-face. I might consider giving the hotel back to you. Once you divorce Liam, everything can be settled.”

By now, Freya was certain that there was a trap waiting for her in the next room.

Joseph and Madison had clearly played a trick. One called Liam back to Haventon, while the other came to Sairo. It was a classic diversion tactic.

After a moment’s thought, a plan formed in her mind. She let out a chuckle. “Alright, I’ll change and come over. Just wait a bit.”

“Take your time. I’ll be waiting,” Joseph said, completely unaware.

Hanging up, Freya immediately called Lily. “Lily, I need you to do me a favor.”

Lily listened and then said without hesitation, “Consider it done. Just watch.”

Ten minutes later, Freya heard the doorbell of the next room ring. She rushed out of her room and peeked through the peephole.

A squad of armed police officers stood ready outside. The moment the door opened, they swarmed in. “Freeze! Police!”

Soon, she saw the “show” Joseph had prepared for her. Seven or eight naked men were escorted out by the police, who kindly wrapped towels around their waists.

Meanwhile, some policemen were also coming in and out, taking quite a few items out of the room-all shapes and sizes of devices.

Freya didn’t recognize them, but Lily did right away. “Oh my, so many cameras? And recording gear, even pinhole ones. Was all this gear this complete?”

An officer addressed Lily. “Thank you for your helpful tip-off, Ms. Hall. We didn’t find any drugs, though, but a few of those guys actually turned out to be addicts.

“And we also picked up a small amount of sedatives at the scene. Thanks for what you did for Sairo.”

Lily waved it off. “No problem. Fighting evil and promoting good is always worth it.”
