Ryan looked at her. “You came in without my permission, went straight to my bedroom, and now you’re lying on my bed. Mrs. Grant, what are you doing?”

As he spoke, he rubbed the fingers that had touched her. There still seemed to be a lingering warmth. “You’re as slippery as an cel–impossible to keep a grip on,” he said.

Freya said, “Claire told me to-”

“Hey, Ryan. Holy crap.” Sophia stood frozen. ‘What’s going on here? Ryan’s clearly just showered, and there’s a woman on his bed?‘ she thought.

Freya was also clearly stunned. “The sun–tanning hottie? She sounds familiar with Ryan. I think I got it now, she thought.

Sophia stammered, “M–Mrs. Grant, can I ask you a question?”

“Go ahead,” Freya said..

“What are you two doing?” Sophia asked.

Freya said, “If I say I’m just here to make the bed decorations, would you believe me?”

Sophia looked at her and then at Ryan, who was sitting there casually as if nothing had happened. She didn’t seem to believe

“Sure,” Sophia said.

“Have you ever been divorced?” Freya asked.

Sophia looked at her with a confused expression. She pointed at Ryan. “You told her that?”

Ryan raised his hands and shook his head innocently. “Not me. I didn’t say a word.”

Freya stood up from the bed and asked another question, “Was it just recently?”

Sophia’s eyes widened, and she pointed accusingly at Ryan. “If it wasn’t you, then who? How does she even know when?”

Freya said, “I see.”

Sophia had a fiery temper. Without caring that Freya was still there, she lunged at Ryan and grabbed his neck.

“You bastard!” Sophia yelled. “Why are you blabbing my private business? I’m gonna kill you. And whip you. And drip candle wax on you!”

Ryan didn’t fight back at all. He kept begging for mercy. “Spare me, please!”

Freya was stunned, but she understood everything. She counted on her fingers. And she thought, ‘A sun–tanned hottie, plus a dominant streak–putting these traits together wasn’t easy.

‘No wonder Ryan waited for her all these years. So he’s got such a specific taste, a total submissive. He even stuck around waiting for her to get divorced after she got married.

Freya left the room tactfully and thoughtfully locked the door from the outside and put up the [Do Not Disturb] sign.

Back at Grants‘ place in Haventon, the aura was so tense the maid didn’t dare speak. After serving the dishes, the maid quickly fled the scene and hid in the kitchen.

Madison served Joseph a bowl of thick soup. “You spent a day at the police station. Have some soup to soothe your throat.” she said.

Joseph slammed his spoon down. “Look at the good son you’ve raised. For the sake of a woman, he sent his own father to jail!”

Madison was startled. Liam ate his meal slowly. “You broke the law. It’s only natural that you got arrested. Even a prince would be punished if he broke the law, let alone you,” he said.
