Laura turned to Ingrid after the line was cut off, a wide smile spreading across her face.
“So, how did it go?” Ingrid asked.
“Mother you wouldn't believe it,” Laura said. “Not only did I manage to convince him to throw out Barry, I also invited him for dinner tomorrow night.”
Ingrid's face brightened delightfully.
“I made some inquiries and my sources told me that the mansion is valued at over $45 million. That's twice the home value of the White mansion,” Ingrid revealed, her mind blown away. “Whoever Barry's new master is, he's a big shot.”
“He mentioned his name is King,” Laura said, her eyes shining. “I want to see him. There's something about him. Especially his voice. He sounds like a very powerful man.”
“I'll make preparations,” Ingrid stood up excitedly, tapping on her phone screen. “The servants would prepare a big feast. I'm going to invite all my friends.”
“No, mother,” Laura protested. “The less company, the better. I'm desperate to find out more about this man. Let's narrow the dinner to just you, dad and my siblings.”
Ingrid didn't argue. “Very well. But what about Barry? For all we know, he could brainwash King with lies in order to counter yours.”
Laura smirked. “That is why I'm going to make sure that after tomorrow's dinner with King, I would not only crush Barry, but I'll also steal his new master for myself.”

Barry stepped into his private study, sealing himself inside so that he won't be distributed.
“ZEUS, call me Hobbs from the Phoenix Bank,” Barry commanded as he walked behind his expansive desk and sat down.
“Your call to Hobbs is connected, sir,” ZEUS responded and a moment later, Hobbs voice came through the line.
“Good evening, Mr. Barry,” Hobbs said. “What can I help you with?”
Barry leaned back in his chair, his eyes settling on the fireplace where a cozy warm fire was burning.
“I want to know. Does Raven enterprises has an outstanding loan with Phoenix Bank?”
“I'm afraid not,” Hobbs replied after a few seconds. Barry could hear Hobbs nattering on his laptop. “From our data, Raven enterprises has never taken a loan nor done any business with us. They run their financial dealings with the White Elephant Bank.”
Barry wasn't surprised. Compared to the Phoenix bank, the White Elephant bank was a much smaller institution that favours many start-up companies and firms.
Nonetheless, the Phoenix Bank was a superior bank. It was powerful enough to crush any bank in the world.
“Find out how much the Raven family owes the White Elephant bank,” Barry demanded.
“Give me a minute while I make a brief call, sir,” Hobbs put their call on hold.
After a minute, Hobbs resumed the call. “The Raven family owes the White Elephant bank $180 million unpaid debt. They also owe the Yellow Eastern Bank $60 million along with other smaller creditors a cumulative debt of $20.”
Barry's eyes widened in surprise. “That's over $260 million in debt. How are they not feeling the heat?”
“The Raven family has maintained good relationships with their banks and creditors. That's why they're not being pressurized to pay,” Hobbs explained.
Barry's mind began to race with ideas. “I want to teach the Raven family a bitter lesson. Contact the White Elephant bank, the Yellow Eastern Bank, and the creditors. I want them to raise the pressure on the Raven family to pay up their debts immediately.”
“That won't be an issue,” Hobbs replied. “The Phoenix Bank controls the majority of the banks and creditors in North Hills. They would do whatever we demand without questions.”
“Good,” Barry said. “Once the heat is up on the Raven family, issue foreclosure proceedings on Raven Enterprises. Seize their assets and make sure the foreclosure cripples them.”
“I'll do that right away,” Hobbs said. He didn't question Barry why he wishes to cripple the Raven family.
