"I said I will clear your debts," Barry repeated himself, staring fixedly at Jonathan. "Every single cent of it."
Jonathan and Francis couldn't believe their ears. They weren't expecting King to make the first move.
"B-But why?" Laura asked, breaking the silence. She looked just as surprised as her family.
"I'm not stupid, Laura," Barry replied her. "I know the only reason you invited me to dinner with your family is because you need a favour from me."
"That's not true," Laura said sharply. "It really wasn't—"
Barry cut her short with a wave of his hand. "Don't waste your breath. I'm willing to get the Raven family out of this mess. So I'll make an offer you guys cannot refuse."
Jonathan leaned forward, his eyes eager. "And what is this offer?"
"Sell me Raven enterprises and I'll pay off your debts," Barry offered. "I'll keep the company running and you and Francis can still retain your position as CEO and COO. But the company would belong to me."
Jonathan and Francis exchanged glances. "You want us to become your employees?"
Barry hide a smirk. "Employees is not the word I'm looking for. I understand Raven enterprises is a family business. It's not my intention to cripple your legacy. I'll be generous of course."
This was a big challenge for Jonathan and Francis. They wanted to protect their families legacy, and yet, they couldn't afford to reject Barry's offer even though they wanted to.
Barry frowned at their hesitation. "If you reject my offer, I promise you won't have access to me again. I like to help people but I hate it when they hesitate to take my offer."
"How much would the Raven family benefit if we accept your offer?" Francis asked anxiously.
Barry formed his fingers into a steeple. "I propose an annual revenue share of 25% split equally between Jonathan Raven and Francis Raven. Your salaries would remain untouched and there will be added bonuses but the company will be mine."
Laura gaped at Barry for a long time, her jaws ajar. This man, she realised was being very generous.
No one would make such an offer unless they're rolling in money.
Jonathan and Francis exchanged glances again but this time they were communicating.
"What do you think, Francis?" Jonathan asked.
"If we take his offer, all our debts would be cleared," Francis answered. "It's not like we have a choice. This is the best deal we can ever get."
Jonathan nodded then rose to his feet and inclined his back to Barry.
"King, you have a deal. The Raven family is looking forward to working with you."
Francis rose up and followed suit with his brother. "We'll do our best to meet up to your expectations."
Barry wiped his mouth with the napkin on the table, then rose to his feet. "Thanks for dinner. I'll leave the rest to my legal team. You'll be contacted tomorrow to clear the paperwork."
The entire Raven family stood to their feet and bowed their head respectfully before him.
"Thank you, King. We appreciate your kindness," they said in unison.
Barry stared at them.
These people had no idea that behind the handsome mask of King, was Barry.
Now they were all bowing before him, being grateful for his help.
