Chapter 114
A few seconds later, Adrian clenched his teeth, puffing out his cheeks. He yelled, “You’re not our dad! Our dad would believe us, not someone else!”
As soon as he said that, George pulled both the children behind him. Still seated, he said, “Since the kids say that they don’t know you, I think it’s best if you leave.”
Carter took a step forward, his voice low and heavy. “Mr. Snider, was stealing my woman not enough? Now you want to steal my children, too?”
In his eyes, George had taken Rhea from him.
“They just said they don’t know you. Forcing them to go with you is kidnapping.” George turned to the police. “It’s getting late. Is there anything else?”
Indeed, that was true. Since the children had denied knowing Carter, they couldn’t just take them
away.
But Carter could prove that they were his biological children.
Lauren quickly said, “Officer, they’re my kids! We have the records!“!
“Your kids?” The officer raised a brow.
Lauren froze.
The officer sighed. “You know where the kids are now, so stop making a scene. They’re with their mother. So, why call the police?”
“She’s not their mother…” Lauren was desperate to prove her identity.
“Legally, she is. Besides, the children have their own will and can choose for themselves.”
George’s voice dropped. “If you have something to say, take it outside. We’re having dinner.”
Upon hearing that, the officers quickly started ushering them away from the door.
Chloe protested, “She kidnapped the kids, and you’re not going to do anything?”
One officer checked his phone before replying, “Ma’am, kidnapping is a serious charge. You need evidence. From what I know, Mrs. Jamison raised those children herself. She’s their stepmother. How does having dinner together count as kidnapping? But if you try to drag them away by force, that’s another matter entirely.”
“I’m their birth mother!” Lauren said innocently. “Why can’t I take them?”
“Do you think you get to abandon them and take them back whenever you please?” the officer shot

back.
Lauren’s face went pale. She had no retort.
“Go back now. Outsiders aren’t allowed to wander here.”
With that, the door shut in their faces. Carter stood outside, staring at the villa in frustration.
He questioned how they could be a family. They hadn’t given birth to his children or raised them, yet now they got to keep them?
Arielle and Adrian were his kids.
“Bring them out,” Carter said coldly. “I’m their birth father and legal guardian. I’m not letting them stay here.”
The officer sighed. “But they’re with their other legal guardian.”
On paper, Rhea was still their mother. That fact couldn’t be erased.
Carter pulled out his phone and called Rhea. She let it ring a long time before answering. “What now?
