Arthur Ravelle withdrew his gaze. His authoritative features radiated dominance. He did a double- take when he heard the name Rhea, as it was the same name as his precious niece.
As a commander, Arthur’s instincts were sharp. He instructed, “Do a background check on those two.
The man in the suit glanced over at Lauren and Peter. “Yes, sir.”
Anyone who drew Arthur’s attention must be trouble.
Arthur entered a high–end ward in the inpatient department.
“Mr. Snider Senior, what brings you to a hospital in Colburn?” he asked.
George’s grandfather, Bryan Snider, looked lively and spirited, showing no signs of illness. “I just needed some peace. My daughter–in–law keeps pestering me to set George up. She’s just too noisy!”
Bryan wasn’t sick at all. He had just come to the hospital to escape the chaos.
Arthur took a seat and smiled. “George is 29 now, right? It’s time to get married.”
Bryan waved him off. “I don’t support that whole idea about marrying once one reaches a certain
age. Happiness is something you have to fight for yourself. Forcing it won’t work!”
But he couldn’t stop his daughter–in–law’s plans, so he had no choice but to sneak out.
“Mr. Ravelle?”
Outside the room, George had just arrived.
When Arthur saw the tall, impressive young man, his eyes were full of approval. He believed that such an outstanding son–in–law would be perfect for the Ravelle family.
Alas, the Ravelle family’s only daughter…
“Hi, George,” Arthur said.
George had just learned that Bryan had slipped away to Colburn this morning, so he hurried over to check.
Arthur’s schedule was busy, so he didn’t linger. He was here with his Colburn unit and had only a
brief chance to visit.
“I’ll see you out, Mr. Ravelle,” George offered.

Chapter 123
“No need. Stay with your grandpa.” Arthur then bade his farewell.
As he exited the hospital and got into his car, his subordinate approached. “Commander Ravelle, here’s the information on those two.”
Arthur opened the file. The man named Peter on the first page had a rather ordinary background, but .the woman named Lauren was somewhat unusual.
His subordinate explained, “I carefully reviewed this. This woman has no history of cancer, yet she was later registered in the oncology department. Also…”
He had heard bits and pieces about what was going on in Arthur’s family.
“Also, what?” Arthur’s expression turned grave.
“She’s the birth mother of the two children Ms. Ravelle raised. Recently, Ms. Ravelle and her husband have been at odds, largely because of this woman.” His subordinate didn’t hide anything.
After saying that, he recounted the trivial things he had discovered concisely.
Arthur’s expression grew colder by the moment, and he immediately made a call.
“Uncle Arthur?” Nathan answered.
Arthur’s tone was calm, yet his anger was palpable. “Your parents won’t handle Rhea’s situation, and you aren’t stepping in as well? Aren’t you her brother? Do you know what she’s going through? Are you dead?”
The Ravelle family thrived with many male descendants, but Rhea was the only woman. Naturally, she had been pampered from a young age.
Arthur, in particular, cherished Rhea deeply. When she insisted on marrying Carter back then, he was more furious than Liam.
“You know about it?” Nathan was surprised.
“So you knew and did nothing?”
Nathan replied, “I did intervene. Rhea’s preparing for a divorce. She has to handle this herself. If I force it, it might backfire.”
