“Alright. Thank you,” Lauren said. She then found a seat to rest for a while. She glanced around the room and occasionally toward the men’s lounge in the distance.

After a few minutes, the female guests began chatting in small groups.

Just then, Rhea entered through the back door. The moment she stepped in, every woman in the

room rose to their feet.

“Ms. Ravelle.”

“Ms. Ravelle, it’s been so long.”

She was instantly surrounded as though she were the center of a galaxy. Her cool, serene elegance seemingly set her above every other woman present.

Rhea smiled faintly. “Hello, everyone.”

For some reason, looking at her now, Lauren felt that Rhea had changed completely.

Beauty was part of it, but there was also that unintentional yet commanding presence she exuded. It was as if she was born to be adored.

Lauren pushed down the flicker of jealousy and sat quietly.

She couldn’t hear what they were talking about, but she could sense the distinct respect the women- each from influential backgrounds–held toward Rhea.

Lauren wondered about what made Rhea so special. Was it just because she was friends with George and Nathan?

Something crossed Lauren’s mind. She got up and walked over. “Rhea?” Her soft call drew everyone’s attention.

“Rhea, could you help me? Where’s the section reserved for pregnant women?”

Pregnant?

Everyone was puzzled. Which family did this unfamiliar pregnant lady belong to? No one had heard of anyone expecting recently.

Rhea looked up. She knew that Lauren was saying it just for her ears.

Liora was just as striking as Rhea, though her beauty carried a sharper, more intimidating edge.

Standing five feet six in three–inch heels and dressed in a simple outfit rather than formalwear, she still outshone most of the crowd.

After speaking, Liora fixed her gaze on Lauren. It turned out that this was the woman who dared bully Rhea. She didn’t think there was anything impressive about her.

Lauren froze, feeling cornered by Liora’s question.

If she admitted she was pregnant, she would be confirming that she wasn’t actually invited.

If she denied it, then her question about a section reserved for pregnant women would be pointless.

Lauren smiled faintly. “I’m not sure yet. I haven’t had time to check. I just wanted to be cautious and get some rest.”

“I see.” Liora smiled. “In that case, we have female doctors here who can help you with that.”

“That’s not nec-”

Lauren didn’t even have time to refuse.

A female doctor, who had been on standby in the lounge, heard the commotion and rushed over.

“Hi, I’m Dr. Hazel McGuire, the director of Donovan Second Maternity Hospital. Please don’t worry. I have years of experience.”
