George used to have an older brother named Gerard Snider.

His words stunned Cynthia. She quickly sat beside him and asked, “Who is she? What’s she like? She’s not impulsive or reckless, is she? I don’t care about her background. My only request is that she’s not the type to lose control and do whatever she pleases.”

Noticing his silence, Cynthia gave a cold laugh. “So the woman you like must have quite the personality.”

Gerard’s death had left a permanent scar on her. Ever since, she had despised women with volatile

tempers.

Kate was known across Draventh for being gentle, gracious, and soft–spoken.

“If you don’t bring this woman home within a month to meet me, then I’ll make the decision myself next month and arrange your engagement to Kate. The choice is yours.”

Bryan immediately leaned in. “George, who is the woman you like?”

George stood, “Grandpa, Nathan’s waiting for me for dinner. I’ll head out first.”

He didn’t think that it was the right time to tell them.

“What, you can’t even tell me?” Bryan muttered.

“Dad, let him be,” Steven said. “Ever since Gerard’s accident, George has kept himself in check. He’s terrified of letting us down. He’s already under enough pressure.”

“I support George! The problem is your wife!”

Steven frowned. “Don’t worry. I’ll handle her. Happiness is what matters most. Forcing a marriage just isn’t right, and it wouldn’t be fair to Kate either.”

He hadn’t expected such a crowd. And almost instantly, his gaze found Rhea among them.

He quickly masked his emotions. “Everyone’s here?”

Nathan pouted. “What took you so long?”

“My mom kept me back for a talk.”

“About marriage, right?” Nathan smirked. “I heard that Mrs. Pearson is trying to push you and Kate together.”

It wasn’t exactly a secret.

Kate wasn’t present. She hadn’t been feeling well and had gone home earlier that evening.

Liora quietly sipped her drink, refusing to engage in the conversation. She didn’t even dare look George in the eye. If he ever found out that she had let his secret slip, he would skin her alive.

Valerie, already aware of George’s feelings for Rhea, kept watching the way he looked at her. The longer she observed, the more obvious it became that his gaze was filled with affection.
