Inside the courthouse, Rhea and Carter made their way to the divorce processing area. It was slightly crowded, and they had to wait in line.
After about ten minutes, Rhea signaled Anthony to help coordinate a private handling.
Within five minutes, someone came hurrying over. “Ms. Ravelle, sorry to keep you waiting.”
The two staff members were clearly supervisors. They treated Rhea with utmost respect.
Upon seeing that, Carter felt a twinge of discomfort. In the past, whenever they appeared together,
people had fawned over him instead.
“Please, right this way,” one of them said.
Once they reached the private area, the staff members confirmed every document. One of them asked, “Are you sure you want to proceed with the divorce?”
Rhea nodded without any hesitation. “Yes.”
When it was Carter’s turn to answer, he opened his mouth but couldn’t say the word.
At that moment, he recalled Rhea’s gentleness and thoughtfulness. And on top of that, her powerful family and vast connections…
Suddenly, his phone vibrated. Carter glanced at the caller ID and noticed that it was Amelia calling.
He gestured. “Excuse me, I need to take this.”
Rhea didn’t respond.
Carter answered. “Yes, Ms. Lowe?”
“Mr. Jamison! Adrian got into a fight with another student and is unconscious in the hospital! You need to get there immediately!” Amelia spoke urgently.
Carter nearly jumped out of his wheelchair. “What? Adrian’s unconscious? How is he now?”
When Rhea heard that, she frowned at him.
Amelia replied, “I don’t know the full details. The doctor said that the parents need to get there as soon as possible. It seems like it could be life–threatening, so please hurry!”
After that, Amelia added something.

When he hung up, panic overtook him. “Rhea, Adrian’s in trouble.”
Rhea immediately stood, her expression serious. “What happened?”

“His teacher said that he got into a fight and is now unconscious. It’s critical. I need to get there immediately.”
Carter’s lips were trembling as he ordered Glen, “We’re going back to Draventh now!”
Seeing him rush off, the staff member called after Rhea, “Ms. Ravelle?”
Rhea snapped back to reality. “Can this be handled in Draventh?”
The staff member replied, “If both parties agree and there are no disputes, filing with the court can lead to an immediate divorce ruling.”
