“Do you think their stance is acceptable?” Carter asked the school principal, Richard McNeil.

“You have all the surveillance footage. Adrian only gave that boy a little push, and that kid didn’t even flinch. But he shoved Adrian with everything he had. That’s basically attempted murder. I’m going to sue them.”

With that, Carter turned to leave.

Richard stopped him and said in a low voice, “Mr. Jamison.”

Carter looked up.

Richard sighed. “The older boy’s family… has a high–ranking official in Draventh. Even if you take them to court, your chances aren’t great. And it’s a fact that Adrian started it first. They’ll latch onto that fact. Pushing back could make things worse. You’re planning to stay in Draventh, right?”

The message was clear–Carter should just let this matter go.

In all his years in Colburn, Carter had never been forced to tolerate an injustice like this.

But the truth was, he lacked the power to fight.

He clenched his jaw so hard that the veins in his eyes stood out like red threads.

“We didn’t handle things well either. We’ll cover any costs we’re responsible for,” Richard promised,

But Carter didn’t care about money. He had the surgery costs covered. What he wanted was an apology

Adrian had been insulted and pushed off the flag platform. He needed an apology for those matters.

“Who exactly are they?” Carter asked.

“The Meltons.” Richard sighed. “Mr. Jamison, I really suggest you let this go. Talk to them nicely and just try to get whatever you can.”

Carter looked at him, said nothing, and left. He could never ask Adrian to endure this injustice.
