Chapter 305
When Adrian arrived at Jamison Manor, Arielle refused to leave his side.
“Adrian, rest early, okay? If you feel sick, just tell Ms. Berry,” Carter said.
Arielle asked, “Dad, it’s so late. Where are you going?”
“I…” Carter hesitated. “I’m going to see a friend. You two go to bed, okay?”
After he left the room, Arielle tiptoed after him.
Just then, his phone rang, and he picked it up. “Lauren, what’s wrong?”

On the other end of the line, Lauren’s voice was weak. “I don’t feel well. I can’t eat or sleep.”
Carter lowered his gaze. “It’s probably the pregnancy. I’m coming to see you now.”
“Really?” Her voice brightened with joy. “I’ll wait for you, Carter.”
Arielle heard every single word. She recognized Lauren’s name and knew it was that evil woman.
Pregnant? That evil woman was pregnant?
Arielle put the pieces together and realized that Carter had betrayed Rhea.
She rushed back to the bedroom. “Adrian, is that evil woman pregnant?”
“I heard Mr. Henderson talking about that earlier,” Adrian replied.
“What are we going to do…” Arielle felt uneasy.
If Carter had another baby, he would care even less about them. Without Rhea and Carter, they would end up like those poor, homeless kids in those soap operas.
“We can’t let that happen!” Arielle’s eyes darted around as her mind spun. “We have to stop this.”
Adrian was stuck in bed. “Arielle, what are you going to do?”
“Grandpa gave us his phone number.” She dug through her little bag for Liam’s business card.
After searching for quite a while, she finally found it. “Found it!”
“Arielle, wouldn’t it be the same thing if we just told Mom?” Adrian asked.
Arielle shook her head firmly. “Mom’s too kind. But Grandpa is her dad. If he finds out about this, he’ll definitely be mad. He can stop that evil woman from having another baby.”
She didn’t hate the idea of siblings, but she just couldn’t accept one from Lauren. Even if she was

their birth mother, she despised them, so they would never accept her.
Arielle locked the door, then carefully typed Liam’s number into her smartwatch and hit the call
button.
She lay beside Adrian, and the twins stared wide–eyed at the screen, waiting for Liam to answer.
But he was probably busy. No one picked up even after Arielle called twice.
“Maybe Grandpa’s already asleep,” Adrian said.
