Chapter 333
George had texted, “Are you still awake?”
Rhea, slightly tipsy, propped her chin with one hand while typing with the other. “Yeah. What are you doing?”
She thought it felt strange to suddenly become a couple. She didn’t know what to say or how to act.
With Carter, she had always been the one taking the initiative. This reciprocal dynamic was entirely new to her.
George replied, “I just had dinner with my parents. I missed you, so I thought I’d text you.”
He missed her…
Rhea hesitated for a moment, then tapped on the screen to start a video call. Her fingers trembled as
she did so.
George answered almost immediately.
The moment the screen lit up, Rhea quickly averted her gaze. “You…”
On the phone screen, George looked like he had just come out of the shower. He had a towel draped around him as he wiped water droplets from his body.
She immediately noticed his sculpted abs and broad chest, thinking that they were impressive.
George laughed. “I’m not even afraid of you looking, so why are you being shy?”
“I’m not…” Rhea steadied herself and returned her gaze to the screen. “It’s just too sudden.”
Who would have expected to be greeted by such a breathtaking, just–out–of–the–shower sight the moment the call connected?
The wine emboldened her a little. She took a small sip of the red wine and smiled at the screen.
Noticing her gaze, George didn’t shy away. He knew his appearance mattered more than his soul in winning her over. If this was what it took for her to accept him, he didn’t mind.
Rhea set down her glass, her eyes sparkling. “Come closer.”
George raised a brow and leaned in.
“Why is there a scar on your chest?”
“It was left over from childhood,” George replied. “You can see it?”

“With a close look, yes.”
George lit a cigarette and exhaled gently. A smile graced his lips as he watched her on screen. “Close look?”
Rhea’s cheeks, already flushed, warmed further. She chuckled. “You don’t want me to look closely?”
“Look all you want,” he said.
He picked up his other phone. “The fruit I ordered for you will be air–shipped tomorrow and delivered to your door. Make sure to eat it as soon as it arrives. And the custom–made dress I ordered for you should arrive in about a week.”
“A dress?”
“You’re my girlfriend now.” George’s gaze grew intense. “There might be occasions you’ll need to attend.”
Occasions such as friends‘ gatherings or family events.
This was essentially her first gift from him.
After saying that, George leaned closer to the screen. His voice was deep and pleasant as he called out, “Rhea.”
She was leaning against the glass window behind her. Her long hair was draped over her shoulders, and her head was slightly tilted. “Yes?”
“Was being with me an act of impulse?” he asked earnestly.
