“You two stay put.” Carter stepped out of the car, his expression cold. The air around him was heavy

with tension.

The other car came to a halt after the sudden crash, and the driver climbed out.

In the back seat, Lauren, who had been trying to charm the wealthy old man, frowned.

She wondered who the hell was interrupting her. Didn’t they know how to drive?

The moment she turned to look behind her, her whole body stiffened.

The old man’s hand stayed on Lauren’s hip, his leering expression plain to see.

Andrew Kinney, the old man, asked, “What’s wrong, beautiful?”

Lauren quickly turned her face away. Her heart was pounding wildly. Carter was already storming over, so she had to think fast.

“Andy…”

She threw her arms around Andrew’s neck and let out a pitiful sob. “Andy, that’s my ex. He won’t stop harassing me. He spreads lies about me when I disobey him. What should I do?”
