George laughed. "My future in-laws."

"You haven't had dinner with Nathan in a while, right?"

"Yeah, I've been busy. Nathan's been complaining about it non-stop at me on WhatsApp." George sighed. In the past, he would've shot back at Nathan until the latter sulked for days.

But now, since Nathan was going to be his future brother-in-law, he had to show him some respect. As a result, he had no choice but to endure the complaints in silence.

"Lie down and take a nap," said George.

"Okay."

Rhea obediently snuggled into his arms. George covered her with a blanket, and they both drifted off to sleep.

Kate watched their interactions closely and felt a sense of envy.

This wasn't about George; it was about the quiet connection Rhea and George shared, and the way it felt as though they had only eyes for each other.
