Juniper was coming out of the coffee shop with Suki, when her friend gave a little gasp. Juniper considered the man she knew was Frank was coming towards them purposefully and Suki sensed him before Juniper saw him. Her friend’s reaction was adorable.

She watched wide–eyed as Suki saw him and immediately started visibly shaking with excitement, her hands trembling as the larger–than–life man walked up to her and pulled her right off her feet into a bear hug. Suki snuggled up against his chest and Juniper couldn’t stop the happy bubble of laughter which pulled up from her lungs.

“Oh, my goodness,” she fanned her face to keep herself from crying. Knowing how much her entire life Suki, despite her exuberance and loud nature, was incredibly reserved and romantically reluctant, the sight before her now was everything she could dream up for her best friend. “You’re both so cute.”

Frank grinned over Suki’s head, “sorry to crash your coffee date. I just missed her.”

“We were done anyway. Suki mentioned something about needing to go home and get a good sleep since she was pretty tired. I decided since I’m in his neck of the woods I’m going to go visit Phineas at the office.”

“Can we give you a lift? We need to pass by his building on the way back to my place.” Frank offered.

Suki looked at him in confusion, “We’re going to your place?”

“You need to sleep my beautiful girl. I’m going to tuck you into bed and work from home for the day. You can sleep as long as you want. I simply want to keep you with me. Is this okay?”

Suki nodded excitedly. “Yes, please.”

“Good girl.”

Juniper wondered if her friend’s panties were soaked by the deep throaty growled compliment because he wasn’t even talking to Juniper and she was feeling a bit flustered. Based on her friend’s bright red cheeks, Juniper was confident Suki was definitely turned on.

The sound of a motorcycle drawing near made them all look over their shoulders and Juniper made wide eyes as she took in the familiar form of the man who pulled his bike up to the curb and lifted off his helmet.

“Adil!”

“Hi baby girl.”

“What are you doing here?” she nearly skipped to him at the bike.

“Mm, well,” he tapped her nose, “Suki sent me the video earlier and I thought I’d better come check to make sure you’re okay.”

“I am.”

“You sure?”

“Absolutely. Were you able to find out more?”

“I was. I already gathered tons. This was icing.” He looked around and his eyes landed on Frank.

“Hey Tuck! Didn’t see you there,” Adil laughed as Frank shook his head.

“As if.”

“I swear, I thought you were part of the building.”

Frank laughed at Adil, “funny. I’ll remember that when I take your money at the next poker game.”

“Sure.” Adil looked at Suki, “we were right, weren’t we?”

“She’s perfect,” Frank dropped a kiss to the top of Suki’s head.

“Only the best for our girl’s BFF.”

“You calling me the best?” Frank snorted.

“If the shoe fits.” He smiled at Juniper.

“Frank just offered to drive me down to Phineas‘ office,” she repeated her plans. “Do you want to meet me there and you can tell us both at the same time?”

“I’ll take you to Phineas.” Adil offered.

“Oh, you’re on your bike. It’s fine. I can get a lift with them.”

“Or” he patted the seat behind him, “we’ll go for a little drive which ends with us at Phineas‘ building.”

She made wide eyes and looked back at Suki who was clapping at her.

“Get on the bike, Juni,” Suki was excited. “Do something else wild and crazy.”

“It’s not wild and crazy,” Adil laughed. “I’m not popping wheelies while I drive. I’m careful.”

“Do it anyway, Juniper.” Suki teased.

Adil unhooked a helmet and held it out to Juniper, “come here baby girl. Let’s get you protected, and you can come with me to Phineas‘ office.” Juniper was feeling reluctant, and Adil held his hand to her, “trust me, baby. I promise you’re safe.”

She nervously let him clip the helmet under her chin and then he encouraged her to get on the back.

“Keep your arms around my waist and lean with me.”

“Okay.” She nodded and then grinned through the visor at Suki who was bouncing up and down excitedly. It was so good to see her friend not feeling the need to quell who she was to satisfy the

outside world. She shook her head at how following Kyst’s lead, she’d encouraged Suki to tone it down. She definitely liked this version better. She jumped when the engine roared to life under her and shook her head at Suki’s squeal as the bike pulled away from the curb.

Juniper’s eyes were squeezed shut while she hugged Adil even tighter as they accelerated through the traffic. She gasped when she felt Adil’s hand cover hers on his belly and she screamed, “put both hand on the steering wheel!”

His laugh rumbling against her chest to his back made her cringe.

“I mean the handlebars.”
