Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 301

Roberto’s mom and Jacob’s mom shared a quick look, their curiosity obvious. They wanted to see what Amelia was up to, so they followed her over to a quiet corner. On the way, Roberto’s mom scooped up her son’s backpack, hugging it close.

Will watched the three of them, intrigued. He couldn’t hear what Amelia was saying, but whatever it was, it worked. The smug looks on the moms’ faces faded fast, replaced by obvious worry.

He couldn’t help but smile. It was just like back when he and Amelia were coding together—no matter what problem came up, she always had a fix.

Suddenly, a small but serious voice piped up next to him. “Excuse me, sir—who are you?”

Will looked down and saw Timmy, who barely came up to his knee, standing with a straight face, staring up at him like a tiny security guard.

This was Timmy, Amelia’s son and the little genius who’d teamed up with his nephew Kyle.

Will bent down with a friendly smile. “Hey there. I’m a friend of your mom’s. You can call me Uncle Will.”

He offered his hand, but Timmy didn’t take it. Instead, the boy’s eyes narrowed. “Are you trying to date my mom?”

Will blinked, totally caught off guard. “I—”

Timmy’s face got even more serious. “My mom and dad aren’t divorced yet. Are you trying to be a homewrecker? Because that’s shameful.”

Will nearly choked on his own words, completely thrown by the kid’s bluntness.

Luckily, Amelia was done with her conversation and came back just in time. Timmy quickly abandoned his interrogation, hurried to his mom, and grabbed her hand.

Amelia was a little surprised but clearly happy, reaching down to ruffle his hair.

Roberto’s mom and Jacob’s mom came back, their faces stiff and pale. Each dragged her son over to Jinx, making the boys apologize and promise to treat her better from now on.

Jinx looked overwhelmed, glancing at Penny for help.

Penny, sleeves rolled up and pudgy fists clenched, glared at the boys. “If you ever bully anyone again, I’ll beat you up!”

Neither mom dared say another word. They hustled their kids away as fast as they could.

Finally, everything was settled. Ms. Arnold let out a huge sigh of relief.

“Penny’s mom, thank goodness you were here. What did you say to them?” Ms. Arnold asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.

Amelia smiled. “Oh, you know. I just reasoned with them. Logic works wonders.”
