Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 331

By tomorrow, his indictment would be sitting on the judge’s desk. The hearing was set for the same afternoon Clive would be kicked out of the boardroom.

Clive ended the call without another word.

He drove straight home.

Just as he pulled up to his house, his phone buzzed. Kristen was calling, her voice practically sparkling with excitement.

“Clive, Dr. Wade’s team agreed to partner with us! They’re sending someone over tomorrow to sign the contract. And guess what—Dr. Wade specifically asked for me to join Group A!” Kristen was almost breathless with joy.

The tension that had been etched into Clive’s face all day finally eased, replaced by a genuine smile.

“That’s amazing. You really outdid yourself, Kristen.”

It turned out Amelia was hopelessly behind the times after five years away. She wasn’t the genius everyone used to chase after.

Diego might’ve been mad at first, but he must’ve realized Amelia didn’t have what it took anymore. She was useless to him now.

So he chose to stick with Cloudcrest. And Kristen? She was handpicked for Group A.

Clive had definitely underestimated her. After all these years, Kristen had already left Amelia in the dust.

“Clive, didn’t you say you’d give me a reward if I landed this project?” Kristen’s tone turned playful, almost teasing.

She really had taken a huge weight off his shoulders. Clive asked, “So, what do you want?”

“I want the four of us to have dinner together tomorrow night, just like we used to. At my favorite restaurant. Please?”

Back when Amelia was still unconscious, Penny relied on Kristen so much that Clive would bring Timmy and Penny to dinner with her every week, the four of them eating together like a real family.
