Karma Doesn’t Sleep: The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 352

Amelia didn’t say a word.

How could she forget? When it came to being shameless, no one could beat Ryan.

Instead of responding, she changed the subject herself.

“Thanks… for earlier.” Her voice was quiet but sincere.

If Ryan hadn’t shown up right then, she doubted she would have dodged that hit. Whoever was after her wasn’t just trying to scare her—they meant business.

“When did you start making enemies like that?” Ryan’s tone turned serious, his expression impossible to read.

“I really don’t know.” She paused, then gave a wry little smile. “I thought the only people who wanted me gone tonight were the Salmerons.”

Ryan studied her face in the dim light, his eyes tracing the soft curve of her cheek. He frowned slightly. “Did you get hurt?”

She shook her head. “No. I’m okay.”

“Are you scared?”

She shot back an automatic answer. “It’s fine. I’m not.”

No matter how scared she felt, “I’m fine” was always her answer. She never let anyone see past her guard, never showed a hint of weakness. Truth was, even now, she still didn’t trust Ryan.

“Amelia.” His voice was suddenly low, deliberate, using her full name.

She looked up, a little confused.

The streetlight flickered over his face, shadow and gold playing across his eyes, which were now locked on her with a focus that made her pulse jump.

She barely moved, just a tiny shift away from him.

That was enough to pull Ryan back to reality. He blinked, forced himself to lean back, and slipped right into his usual lazy, unbothered style. Even his voice sounded lighter, almost careless again.

“Really think about it. Other than the Salmerons, who else hates you enough to try to kill you?” He glanced at her, noticing how she was practically hugging the car door. His face stayed blank. “Whoever it is, find them. They owe me a car.”

He had a point. Ryan’s car was expensive, and after that crash, it would need some serious repairs.

“I’ll pay you back,” Amelia promised, straight-faced.

He didn’t argue. “Alright.”

The rest of the drive was quiet. Ryan closed his eyes, pretending to sleep, while Amelia replayed the attack in her head. The motorcycle driver had been completely covered—helmet, gloves—no way to ID them, not even with security cameras.

Then, she remembered—the license plate.

She quickly grabbed her phone and typed it into her notes.
