Andrew pulled up right in front of West Medicine Tower and let Amelia out.
The marriage was over, but there was still work to do.
“Ms. Sadinton.” Andrew leaned his arm on the window, calling after Amelia just as she was about to walk into the building. His tone was friendly but firm. “Tomorrow’s the first court hearing. Nothing’s going to get decided yet, so there’s really no need for you to show up. I’ll handle it for you as your attorney.”
After a few run-ins with Clive, Andrew had figured out the guy wasn’t exactly stable. He always looked like he had it together, but there was something off—like he could lose it at any moment.
Even at the divorce office today, Clive hadn’t seemed like someone who could just let go and part on good terms.
To be honest, Andrew doubted Clive was even taking the divorce seriously.
For Amelia’s sake, he really didn’t want her facing Clive in court tomorrow.
“Okay, I’ll wait for your update,” Amelia agreed without hesitation.
When it came to the law, Andrew was the expert.
She waved goodbye and headed toward the building, but she hadn’t even made it through the doors when someone called her name.
“Amelia!”
She turned to see Belle walking up, juggling two cups of coffee.
Belle handed her a latte with a big grin. “Perfect timing. I grabbed this for you.” She’d already seen Amelia’s social media post and was genuinely happy for her. “Congrats. Happy Divorce Day!”
“Thanks, Belle.” Amelia smiled—her eyes lighting up, her whole face just coming alive.
Even Belle, who was a woman herself, found it hard to look away.
