Chapter 206

But Sebastian’s body heat betrayed him.

Valeria said softly, He’ll be back soon.

Sebastian fixed his gaze on Valeria’s face. Without another word, he lowered his head and kissed her the moment he turned off the light. His tongue pushed its way inside, searing

Valeria.

He gave her no chance to avoid him. One hand threaded through her hair, holding the back of her head in place. Taking a few steps forward, he pressed her against the window and drew the curtain shut, leaving only a narrow gap.

It was just enough to see the people coming in and out of the building downstairs.

Valeria clung tightly to the wall, barely steadying herself. She hadn’t done anything, yet at that very moment, her chest rose with a strange, thrilling tension. It was as though she were having an illicit affair with him.

She was in a daze from his kiss and was only able to stand there, panting. Her jaw ached from tilting her head up for so long. Closing her eyes, her lashes trembled uncontrollably. When she opened them again, she met Sebastian’s dark eyes, which were burning with raw desire.

Valeria’s heartbeat pounded like a drum, and their breaths were intertwined with the sounds of kisses.

In the pitchdark quiet, separated only by a wall, the old building’s poor sound insulation let through the sound of a cartoon playing outside.

She bit her lip, only letting out stifled moans when she could no longer endure it, but they were always quickly swallowed up by Sebastian.

They stayed there by the window. Valeria didn’t even know how long had passed before her strength gave out.

Just then, Shane’s figure appeared at the entrance of the building. Sebastian narrowed his eyes and suddenly froze.

Valeria bit her lip nervously.

Only then did she realize that her body was tensed up.

Her nails dug into Sebastian’s back.

She had really been swept up by the atmosphere. Why was she even nervous?

Shane wouldn’t come up to the sixth floor. Normally, they never disturbed each other.

Outside, the television had gone quiet, so Selena had probably gone back to her room.

Inside, still by the window, Sebastian clenched his jaw tight, and veins seemed to bulge at his

temple.

The place fell into silence.

Sebastian could feel the trembling inside his own chest as he considered how to deal with what might come next.

He wasn’t afraid of being found out, but he had to think of Valeria.

Lowering his head, he kissed the corner of her lips, then brushed his thumb across the dampness there. Blame it on me. Say that I forced you.

Valeria’s expression was exceptionally calm. Only the trace of sweat on her cheeks and her uneven breath betrayed her.

Sebastian brushed aside a strand of hair stuck to her cheek. Her composure made him think that she was simply too shocked to react.

Her family was ordinary and conservative, and she lived a quiet life.

So, she had a small circle of acquaintances.

For her, something like this being exposed would be a public execution of her reputation.

Pinching her chin, he said unsteadily, Tell Shane I forced myself on you. You couldn’t resist my strength and endured it against your will. Understand?

This fault was his to bear.

Valeria stared at him in alarm. She fell silent for a few seconds, not expecting him to say something like that.

When she finally found her voice, she said, He already went back to the fifth floor. You should leave.

Sebastian frowned. Did you get into a fight with him?

Was the husband sleeping in separate rooms after a fight?

Valeria didn’t answer, and he took her silence as acknowledgement.
