Chapter 111
“Yes, Alia is such a good girl!” My mother smiled tenderly and kindly. Being able to be so close with her most beloved daughter in her lifetime made her content.
Marco watched us from the side, especially noting the happy smile on my face, his eyes filled with gentle
affection.
Before marrying me, Marco had people investigate everything about me, including my parents. During this investigation, he inadvertently discovered the matter my mother had mentioned.
That matter was leverage held against my mother, and the reason she couldn’t hold her head high in front of my father.
To protect me, my mother chose to endure my father’s domestic violence and various hardships for over
twenty years.
“Alia, it’s getting late. You and Marco should go home now,” my mother said after eating, lying down and urging us to leave.
“Mom, how can I leave you alone in the hospital?” I lay on top of my mother, nuzzling against her. “I’m not working these days anyway, so I’ll stay and keep you company.”
“Who wants you to keep me company? Go home and be with your husband, or someone might steal him away,” my mother stroked my head, speaking with gentle affection.
“No, I want to stay with you,” I said, glancing back at Marco. “If he could be stolen away so easily, then
guarding him wouldn’t help anyway.”
“You silly child,” my mother poked my forehead, sighing. “You’re a married woman now, yet you still talk
such nonsense.”
I smiled again: “In front of my mom, I’ll always be a little girl.”
My mother closed her eyes and said: “The hospital staff will look after me. You two should go now. Marco, please take Alia away. Don’t let her bother me here.”
“Mom-
“Go home now, stop bothering me,” my mother waved her hand impatiently, trying to send me away.
In the end, I couldn’t argue with my mother and had to leave with Marco, planning to return early the next morning to keep her company.
However, what she never anticipated was that about half an hour after we left, a middle–aged man arrived at her hospital room.
He yanked the blanket off my mother and sneered coldly: “Sophie, what did I send you here todo? Did I

send you here to enjoy yourself?”
Seeing the visitor, my mother’s face remained expressionless as she curled her lips slightly, smiling faintly: “Cain, Alia has grown up. She’s found someone who truly loves her. You can no longer hurt or use her.”
My father’s face twisted with rage as he cursed: “I raised her for over a decade. Doesn’t she owe me something in return? I told her to have children with the Castro family’s eldest son so that the future heir of the Castro family would have half Rossi blood. Who does she think she is to refuse?”
“Because she is my daughter. She is a living, breathing person, not a tool,” Sophie continued to smile gently, thinking that with a reliable man by my side, she had nothing to worry about anymore.
My father grabbed my mother’s hair, saying coldly: “Since you refuse to persuade her, I’ll have to make things difficult for you.”
“Cain Rossi, I won’t let you succeed,” my mother said calmly, without making a scene, because she had long anticipated this would happen.
Cain had forced her to come and persuade me to return and bear children for the Castro family. Since she didn’t follow Cain’s wishes this time, she knew she would face hardship when she returned home.
But Alia was her daughter, and she only wanted her daughter to live happily. That’s why she wanted to
ensure Alia would never return to Montellano.
“Do you want me to release these?” Cain pulled out a photograph and waved it in front of my mother’s
face.
