Alia POV
Marco nodded bluntly.
“There’s really nothing I can hide from you,” Nicolas sighed, spreading his hands helplessly. “So what do you want to do?”
Marco spoke slowly, “If you want to reveal your identity to Alia, I won’t stop you. But I hope she never learns about that incident.”
I had just emerged from the shadow of losing my mother. If I were to learn about what happened twenty–some years ago, Marco couldn’t imagine how I would react.
“Alia’s father and I were supposedly killed in a car accident. The police called it an accident, but everyone knows it was murder,” Nicolas let out a long sigh. “This car accident that Alia just experienced–the Castro family’s methods haven’t changed in decades.”
Marco replied calmly, “The Castro family won’t struggle for much longer.”
“Indeed,” Nicolas looked at Marco and sighed again. “With you taking action, the Castro family’s days are numbered.”
“I don’t need to act personally. Others will handle them,” Marco said coolly, looking at Nicolas.
Hearing this, Nicolas realized that none of his actions had escaped Marco’s surveillance.
For instance, Nicolas had previously hinted that I should approach Federico to deal with the Castro family–Marco must have known about this all along.
Since Marco already knew about Federico, Nicolas decided not to beat around the bush.
Let Federico take care of the Castro family,” Nicolas said. “Let that illegitimate son deal with his own family. We can watch them destroy each other.”
Marco glanced at Nicolas and said, “I don’t blame you for directing Alia to Federico.”
On the contrary, he was grateful to Nicolas for showing me a clear path.
With my mother driven to death by those people, given my personality, I would never let it go. Pointing me toward Federico was better than letting me fumble around blindly on my own.

As for whether it would succeed, Marco could secretly help Federico behind the scenes.
As Nicolas said, watching the Castro family tear itself apart would be the most satisfying outcome, wouldn’t it?
“Thank you for understanding,” Nicolas clapped Marco on the shoulder. “I know you worry about her, so I won’t do anything that concerns you.”
Marco looked at Nicolas without speaking.
“Be good to Alia in the future,” Nicolas patted Marco’s shoulder again, resuming his usual
carefree smile. “Having a baby soon would be even better.”
Years ago, Nicolas’s father had a childhood sweetheart–my mother, Sophie. But they eventually broke up.
Later, they each formed their own families and had their own children.
It seemed their lives would never intersect again.
But unexpectedly, his high–ranking father became the target of someone seeking to exploit his
power.
After his father refused this person, they drugged him during a business trip and sent an equally drugged Sophie to his bed…
That man was none other than Sophie’s husband, the head of the Rossi family, Kane Rossi!
Afterward, Kane threatened his father with photographs from that night. When his father refused to compromise, they orchestrated a car accident.
Twenty–some years later, they engineered another car accident. Fortunately, I was lucky and only suffered some injuries, nothing life–threatening.
But this time, none of them–neither the Castro family nor the Rossi family–would escape.
At the Rossi family villa.
Maria sat before her vanity mirror, quietly studying her reflection.
The woman in the mirror had beautifully drawn eyebrows and a perfect oval face–by any standard, a true beauty.

However…
Her body felt dirty, so filthy that even she herself was disgusted.
These past few days, every time she closed her eyes, she relived that night–everything those men had done to her.
And Gabriel?
Gabriel had stood by watching, even cheering them on.
In those moments, she had wanted to drink his blood, break his bones, flay his skin-
Maria stared at herself in the mirror for a long time before finally applying very light makeup.
Undoubtedly, Maria was a beautiful woman who needed little makeup to enhance her features.
She could outshine many women without effort.
Of course, except for Alia.
After getting ready, Maria went downstairs for breakfast and then drove out, as if nothing had
happened.
But only she knew that she was no longer the naive Maria who had dreamed of marrying
Gabriel, nor the Maria who obeyed Kane’s every command.
The snow along the roadside hadn’t melted yet, and the weather forecast predicted more snow
tomorrow. For safety, she drove very slowly.
She still had many things to accomplish. She needed to stay alive, carefully, and outlive all of
them.
Upon reaching her destination, Maria didn’t get out of the car but slowly rolled down her
window.
Another car was parked beside hers. The driver also rolled down his window and smiled at her.
“Miss Maria, hello!”
‘Federico, hello! Maria replied.
“I’m sure you’ve considered what I discussed with you on the phone,” Federico said, still smiling gently.
Maria studied him for a long moment before asking, “Are you so certain I’ll cooperate with

you?”
“Of course,” Federico smiled. “Because I understand Miss Maria’s vengeful nature. Besides, what I know is no small matter. It affects your entire life.”
Hearing Federico’s words, Maria’s face turned pale. Her hands gripped the steering wheel tighter, veins bulging on the backs of her hands.
Noticing her change in expression, Federico continued, “Miss Maria, what you want to do is exactly what I want to do. Cooperating with me is your best option.”
Maria took a deep breath, slowly relaxing her grip on the steering wheel. After a long pause, she finally spoke: “If I cooperate with you, what’s in it for me when it’s done?”
Federico’s eyes narrowed slightly as he smiled. “Twenty percent of the Castro family shares.”
“Twenty percent? Do you think I’m a beggar?” Maria scoffed.
Federico stared at her, a flash of ruthlessness crossing his narrowed eyes, yet he smiled as he asked, “What do you want, then?”
Maria took another deep breath and said slowly, “After it’s done, marry me!”
“Marry you? Even if I married you, I wouldn’t love you or be a true husband to you,” Federico said mercilessly. “If you still want to marry me under these conditions, I can give you the title of Mrs. Pellegrini.”
Federico agreed quickly, while mentally considering various possibilities.
He was certain that Maria’s proposal of marriage wasn’t as simple as wanting to be his wife.
He agreed immediately because he wanted to hear her true objective.
“Who cares about being your wife,” Maria laughed. “I still want that twenty percent of the shares, and I want to be the mistress of the Castro family.”
