Chapter 29
I glanced at the mountain of papers on my desk and the half–eaten sandwich by my keyboard.
Can’t. I just had half a sandwich. Sorry! I replied bluntly.
In the luxurious office on the 25th floor of the building, Marco stared at the record of his rejected call, his expression dark and unreadable.
‘Luca,” he called for his assistant, who immediately appeared at the door.
Marco thought for a moment. ‘Book a spot for tonight. Sky Tower Revolving Restaurant,”
Luca nodded, already pulling out her phone. “What time, sir?”
“Eight o’clock. Make sure the restaurant is closed to other customers.”
“The entire restaurant, sir?”
Marco gave her a look that made the question seem ridiculous. “Of course.”
‘Right away, sir.” Luca turned to leave.
The office around me grew quiet. I checked my watch–it was already 7 p.m., and most of my
“One more check, then I’ll head home,” I muttered to myself, squinting at the screen.
“Is that what you tell yourself every night before leaving work?”
Hearing Marco’s voice, I jumped, nearly knocking over my coffee cup.

He stood by my desk, looking impossibly handsome in a navy–blue suit, one hand in his pocket, his piercing eyes studying me.
“Marco! When did you get here?” I glanced around nervously, worried about being seen by my colleagues still working late.
Marco’s expression turned peculiar. “As my secretary, ignoring my calls all day–do you know what you’re doing?”
A wave of guilt washed over me. “I’m sorry. I’ve been swamped today.”
“I can see that.” He glanced at my cluttered desk, then back at me. “Let’s go.”
‘I can’t leave yet,” I protested. “I need to double–check-”
Marco reached for the mouse, quickly saved my document, and firmly shut down my computer.
“Hey! I wasn’t done!”
Before I could argue further, he was already leading me toward the elevator, his hand gripping my wrist with a firm but gentle force.
I stumbled after him, trying to ignore the curious glances from the few colleagues still working late.
“Marco, I really need to finish that proposal/ 1 said as the elevator doors closed behind us.
He looked down at me, his expression softening slightly. “The proposal can wait until tomorrow. Tonight belongs to us.”

Chapter 29
In the underground parking garage, Marco led me to his sleek black Maserati.
As I reached to open the passenger door, he suddenly stepped in front of me.
Let me, he said, opening the door for me with a gentlemanly gesture.
Surprised by his chivalry, my cheeks flushed as I slid into the leather seat.
Marco walked to the driver’s side, got in, and started the engine, which roared satisfyingly to life.
As we pulled out of the parking lot, he reached over to fasten my seatbelt. Misinterpreting his intention, I flinched back, bumping my head against the window.
“Ouch!” I rubbed the back of my head, feeling embarrassed.
Marco immediately pulled over, turning to me with clear concern on his usually stoic face. ‘Are you hurt?”
“No, I’m fine. Just startled. My cheeks burned. “I thought you were going to… in the car…”
We had just been intimate this morning, but this was a parking lot!
If Marco made any unreasonable demands, I definitely wouldn’t compromise this time!
But he reached out, his fingers gently probing the spot I’d hit. “Good, no bump,” he murmured, his hand lingering on my cheek.
Our eyes met, and for a moment, neither of us moved.
His fingers rested on my forehead, warm against my skin, his face closer than it had been in days. Without thinking, I closed my eyes and leaned toward him.
Marco’s gaze dropped to my lips. Before I could fully savor the tension of the moment, he leaned forward and kissed me softly. His warm lips pressed against mine, deliberate and tender.
Slowly, I found myself matching the rhythm of his gentle kiss. I pressed my lips firmly against his, holding the kiss for several seconds before pulling back.
Marco looked surprised. As he restarted the car, a faint smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.
‘Where are we going now?” I asked.
He glanced at me. “Somewhere special.*
