Married to Mafia Boss novel Chapter 44

Alia POV

My answer seemed to satisfy Marco immensely. He suddenly took my face in his hands and kissed me directly on the lips in public.

With so many people watching, I felt extremely embarrassed. I tried to push him away, but he held me even tighter, pressing my body against his

Marco usually appears refined and elegant, with graceful movements and an air of sophistication, but his strength was surprisingly overwhelming. I couldn’t push him away no matter how hard I tried.

What was wrong with him?

Was something off with him lately? He’d been acting impulsively at times, making it difficult for me to keep up with his rhythm.

Just as I was wishing the ground would swallow me up from embarrassment, Marco finally released me and said, Alia, this is

my

thank

you gift.

My thoughts were in disarray. This giftdidn’t cost anythingif he wanted to thank me, couldn’t he offer something more tangible?

After all, I had married Marco, but aside from the card he’d given me, I hadn’t received any formal gift from him yet.

Despite being watched by so many people on the street, I found myself nestling into Marco’s embrace.

This man was my husbandwhy should I care about othersgazes when showing affection with him? Especially that troublemaking Camila.

Seeing me cuddle closer, Marco naturally wrapped his arms around me and whispered, My time tonight is yours. Where else would you like to goperhaps shop for some health supplements?

Let me think about it,I replied with a blush, seriously considering what to do next with Marco.

Just then, Marco’s private phone rang. Alia, wait for me a moment. I need to take this call,he said.

I nodded. Okay.

Marco walked aside to answer his phone while I looked around. Spotting a fresh juice shop nearby, I bought two glasses of orange juice.

After paying, I had just picked up the drinks when Marco hurried back, apologetically saying, Alia, I have an urgent matter to handle and can’t accompany you anymore. I’ll have someone take you home.

Knowing Marco was always busy, I responded understandingly, Go ahead. I can take the bus or a taxi home.

Without further discussion, Marco called Giulio, explained our location, and asked him to take me home.

After hanging up, he added, I probably won’t be coming home tonight. Go to bed early and don’t wait up for me. And don’t see Gabriel again.

nodded, but before I could say anything, Marco had already hurried away. This was the first time I’d seen him in such a rush since I’d known him.

What could have happened to make him leave so urgently?

The only thing I could think of was Gabriel. Remenybering Gabriel’s threatening words and that look in his eyes this afternoon, I felt anxious and confused,

Mrs. Vittorio, I’m here to take you home,Giulio/arrived shortly after.

I put away my phone and asked anxiously, Giulio, what’s happening with Marco? Is it Gabriel from the Castero family? Has he done something to Cortez Tech?

Giulio replied, Mr. Vittorio will be fine. The Castero family can’t do anything to Cortez Tech, please don’t worry.

Giulio was Marco’s most trusted person, and I knew I couldn’t get any specific information from him if Marco hadn’t authorized it.

Chapter 44

I tried to trust Marco, believing he could handle whatever was happening with Gabriel, but I still couldn’t help feeling converted,

Once in the car, I opened my phone to call Marco, but his line was still busy.

Unable to reach him, I grew increasingly anxious. I scrolled to a number Id received call and ask about the situation.

After much deliberation, I put my phone away. Marco had told me not to see Gabriel again, and I didn’t want to upset him in any way.

Meanwhile, Marco sat in a Bentley driven by Salvatore, speeding toward Portano’s largest entertainment venueMeise!

Salvatore had been Marco’s driver for twenty years, practically watching him grow up. Now, glancing in the rearview mirror, he noticed Marco’s extremely dark expression.

Marco rarely showed such emotion unless his troubleprone sister had caused problems again. The last time Marco had been this angry was six months ago when his sister had just entered the entertainment industry.

After more than half an hour, they arrived at Meise

When Marco stepped out of the car, his expression had improved somewhat, but his face still clearly said keep away.

A young man around twenty rushed over: Boss, you’re finally here.

Where’s Sabrina?Marco asked while walking.

She’s in the 888 VIP room on the third floor, the young man hurriedly led the way.

Marco’s frown deepened, and his pace quickened.

Entering this den of vice, smelling the pungent alcohol, watching couples dancing wildly, and noticing several needlelike syringes on the floor, Marco’s temple throbbed with veins as he contemplated razing the place to the ground and rebuilding it.

Boss, the elevator is this way,the young man said cautiously.

Marco scanned the surroundings before following him into the elevator to the third floor, heading straight for the 883 VIP room.

In Marco’s view, such places were covered in germsif possible, he would have preferred to stop breathing altogether while inside.

The young man, having grown up in the Vittorio family, was well aware of Marco’s germophobia. He led the way: Young master, Miss Sabrina is inside.

When the door opened, the scene before him made Marco take a deep breath. If not for his excellent selfcontrol, he would have rushed in to throw out all the men inside.

In the center of the room, a heavily madeup young woman in a tank top and hot pants was dancing intimately with a man.

Several men sprawled across the sofassome whistling, others shoutingall with predatory gleams in their eyes.

Marco removed his suit jacket while walking over, pulled the scantily clad woman into his arms, draped his jacket over her, and coldly asked, Do you know what you’re doing?

The woman blinked her beautiful phoenix eyes and hooked her finger under Marco’s chin: Marco, why are you here?

She giggled, Don’t tell me you came to watch me dance too. I’ll dance for you right now.

Marco removed her wandering hand, picked her up, and started walking out, his face so dark he didn’t want to say another word to her.

Friends, I’m leaving now. Let’s play again another day, the woman called from Marco’s arms, blowing a kiss to the men in the room.

Marco glared at her fiercely and restrained both her hands to stop her from moving around.
