Married to Mafia Boss novel Chapter 49

Alin POV

Ricardo said, It’s strange, that Vittorio doesn’t seem to care about this at all. I wonder what he’s really up to

Gabriel withdrew his gaze and glanced at Ricardo. You say he doesn’t care?

Ricardo replied, I think maybe this Vittorio guy hasn’t realized yet how serious it is to offend you.

Gabriel said, Then keep applying pressure on him.

He needed to drive this Vittorio into a corner, force him to come begging for mercy. At that point, all Gabriel would need to do is hint that Vittorio should divorce Alia on his own initiative, and then Gabriel would let him off the hook. That would be enough.

On the Italian food street in the heart of Portano, I breathed in the fragrant mix of basil, garlic, and freshly baked bread.

Lining the cobblestone path were various small restaurants, each offering authentic dishes from different regions of Italy. I stopped at a Sicilian restaurant and ordered arancini, a type of fried rice ball stuffed with meat sauce and mozzarella cheese.

Food always has a kind of magic; it can make a person feel suddenly enlightened. My thoughts became simpler: Marco either has a relationship with that young celebrity, or he doesn’t.

Tonight, when I get home, I’ll have a serious talk with Marco. If we can keep going, we’ll continue; if not, we’ll go our separate ways. It’s no big deal.

When I got home and opened the door, Lola rushed over, circling around me and expressing her longing for her mom with cheerful barks.

I picked Lola up and rubbed my head against hers a few times. Lola, little one, Mommy knows you missed me.

Woof, woof, woofLola barked to show that she really missed her mom too.

Lola, little one, go play by yourself for a bit. Mommy needs to cook.I put Lola down and patted her head.

Although I was already full, I still needed to cook. Marco hadn’t eaten yet, after all.

Regardless of whether Marco truly had another woman outside, as long as we still held the titles of husband and wife, I would do my best to be a qualified wife.

By the time the food was almost ready, Marco came home from work.

Marco walked into the kitchen. Alia, I’m back.

The dishes are ready; we can eat soon.I glanced back at him and smiled.

Soon, two dishes were on the table, and I served

a bowl of rice.

Marco looked at me in surprise. You’re not eating?

I ate out this afternoon.I paused, then added, You eat first. After you’re done, there’s something I want to talk to you

ah

Ignoring Marco’s expression, I left, the kitchen and went to the balcony in the living room, grabbing a watering can to water the plants.

The house we lived in had four bedrooms, two living rooms, one kitchen, and three bathrooms, totaling about 180 square meters. The living room and master bedroom were the largest, both with scenic balconies. It was quite spacious for just the two of us.

I had been living here for over a month, but I hadn’t cleaned the place myself. Every day while we were out, Marco arranged for someone to take care of it

Chapter 49

As I watered the plants with the can, Lola jumped around at my feet, trying hard to get my attention

looked at her and couldn’t help but laugh. Silly Lola, stop jumping. You’re Mommy’s baby: he could Momay not see you??

Marco finished eating and walked over. Seeing us playing so happily, he hesitated to interrupt for a moment.

1 felt the gaze from behind me and turned around, meeting Marco’s deep, unreadable eyes. I smiled. Finished eating?

Yeah. Marco nodded and stood beside me. What do you want to talk about?

I looked at him, smiling gently, my gaze as soft as autumn water. Marco, I know you didn’t marry me for love. If one day you find the person you want to spend your life with, please just tell me directly. We can part on good terms,

Saying it all in one breath, I felt a sense of relief wash over me.

Francesca often said I was stubborn, that once I set my mind on something, I wouldn’t easily change it. Whether it was studies, work, or relationships, it i decided on something, I would strive to do my best.

When I decided to marry Marco, I was determined to spend my life with him properly.

Now, if one of us has a problem, I don’t want to repeat the past, waiting until things become irreparable and both of us

end

up embarrassed
