Chapter 57
Alia POV
Worried, I acted hastily and didn’t control my strength. I slapped him a bit too hard, hearing a loud smack. My hand stung from the impact.
Alia? Marco slowly opened his eyes, his voice deep and hoarse, his bloodshot eyes frighteningly red.
‘Marco, you have a high fever. Get up, we need to see a doctor.” I grabbed his arm, trying to pull him up, but he was too heavy for me to move.
Marco frowned, glanced at me, then slowly closed his eyes, drifting back into a groggy sleep.
“Marco, don’t sleep, you can’t sleep anymore.” Unable emergency medical help.

move him myself and with Marco barely conscious, I quickly grabbed my phone to call for
Before I could dial, a call came in. The screen showed it was Luca, though I didn’t remember saving Luca’s numbet.
There was no time to think about it, so I answered urgently: “Luca’s assistant…”
Luca didn’t let me finish and asked anxiously: “Miss Alia, is Mr. Vittorio with you?”
Every morning, Marco would wake up early to handle urgent matters across the ocean via video conference, but this morning he was nowhere to be found, and many decisions were waiting for him.
Luca had tried calling both Marco’s work and personal phones, but they were turned off. Unable to reach Marco, she finally called my phone.
“Assistant Luca, your call is timely. Marco has a high fever and is in serious condition. I was just about to call the hospital for emergency help. In this urgent situation, I became surprisingly calm, clearly explaining the situation.
Miss Alia, don’t call the hospital. I’ll send someone right away.” With that, Luca hung up.
I tossed my phone aside and quickly went to the kitchen to get some ice from the refrigerator, wrapping it in a towel to help reduce Marco’s fever.
When I returned to the room, my phone was ringing again. It was Luca calling back. I answered and heard her say: “Miss Alia, Mr. Vittorio is allergic to penicillin. Make sure he doesn’t come into contact with it.”
I nodded: “Understood.”
She hung up again, not showing her usual professional demeanor, but I didn’t pay much attention to that.
With one hand holding the ice pack on Marco’s forehead and the other tightly gripping his large hand, I asked: “Marco, does this feel
Even knowing he couldn’t hear me, I still hoped he would wake up and answer.
After a while, I removed the ice pack and naturally leaned down, pressing my forehead against his.
The warm temperature transmitted through our skin contact felt so comforting that I was reluctant to pull away.
This was the first time I had looked at Marco so closely and so intently.

better?”
He was truly a handsome man. His striking features were like a work of art meticulously crafted by time, every line exuding elegance and steadiness, both graceful and exquisitely detailed.
How could someone be so handsome? Even with his eyes closed, Marco stirred something within me.
Perhaps I was staring too intently, because I/didn’t even notice when Marco opened his eyes.
Marco had opened his eyes at some point, and immediately saw my focused, examining expression. He couldn’t help but say: “Had enough of looking?”

His sudden voice exploded like thunder in my ears, leaving me red faced and frozen.
Only then did I realize how close I was to March–our noses touching, our body heat mingling, our breaths intertwining. And Marco’s gaze, thonga proce pierced through my heart like a sword.
“Ah!” I gasped, jerking back as if electrocuted.
But Marco wasn’t about to let me escape. Quick as a hunting cheetah, he swiftly cradled the back of my head and pulled me in for a fierce Fiss
His movement was so fast that I had no time to react.
Our lips pressed together in passionate embrace.
In that moment, time felt so sweet and fragrant.
My heart was captured once again.
After what seemed like an eternity, Marco finally released me, leaving me breathless. He carefully cradled my face, his rough fingertips gently caressing my swollen, moist lips as he smiled softly.
I was still catching my breath. Everything had happened so quickly that I barely had time to savor it before it ended.
I stared at Marco in disbelief, my red lips parting to say something, but Marco’s finger pressed against them, stopping my words.
“I need to rest,” Marco said with a smile, then released me, laid back down, and continued to sleep.
I felt confused, looking at Marco’s sleeping form with a mixture of concern and amusement, standing there helplessly.
Just then, the doorbell rang loudly.
That doorbell was like music to my ears, relieving me of my awkward situation. I hurried to the door, but from behind me came Marco’s sexy, husky voice: “Alia, put on a jacket.”
I stopped and turned back. Marco still had his eyes tightly closed, as quiet as if he had never spoken.
I stood there, momentarily lost. After a long pause, I raised my hand to lightly touch my still–tingling lips, and whispered so only I could hear: “Mm, I will
Looking down at my nightwear, I realized it wasn’t appropriate for visitors. I quickly grabbed a jacket and put it on before opening the door.
Peering through the peephole, I saw Luca and Giulio had arrived, so I hurriedly opened the door.
As soon as the door opened, Luca and the others rushed in, not even greeting me before charging toward the bedroom.
I stood stunned for a moment, then quickly followed them. Inside, I saw doctors already preparing to inject Marco with medication.
‘What are you doing?” I didn’t recognize any of these people in white coats who had rushed into my home and were now injecting Marco while he was unconscious. Without thinking, I moved to stop them.
Luca blocked me: “Alia, these are Mr. Vittorio’s personal doctors. They’ve been with Mr. Vittorio for many years and know his physical condition very well. Please don’t disturb them.”
I didn’t notice that Luca had changed how she addressed me, and that her tone had grown somewhat cold. I was only concer
ut Marco’s safety.
Watching these people bustle about while I could do nothing to help, and even being treated as an outsider not allowed to approach, made me feel useless.
I pressed my lips together, feeling hurt. It seemed everyone had been by Marco’s side for years, everyone knew him so well, while I, as Marco’s wife, knew nothing about him.
After administering the injection, the doctors transferred Marco onto a stretcher they had brought and carefully carried him out.

They moved with incredible speed. Before I could fully process what was happening, Marco had already been taken away
