Roxanne had ordered a scented candle to be delivered to her through an errands app. She figured it had probably just arrived.

Happily, she rushed to the door. But when she opened it and saw Sebastian's tall figure standing there, her smile froze. "You're here? You've been discharged from the hospital?"

Sebastian looked at her with an unusual gentleness in his eyes. "You wouldn't come to see me, so I came to see you instead."

Roxanne was speechless. Though still tall and striking as ever, Sebastian looked noticeably pale. Clearly, he hadn't recovered yet. And since she shared some responsibility for that, it didn't feel right to shut him out.

She stepped aside and opened the door wider. "Come in."

Sebastian stepped into the apartment, his gaze slowly sweeping across the space. "Is it comfortable living here?"

Roxanne fought the urge to roll her eyes. She had no interest in entertaining his pointless small talk.

Just then, her phone rang. She glanced at the screen and saw that it was an unsaved number, but she recognized it right away—it was Cecilia.

She hadn't saved her contact, but the number was etched in her memory. Honestly, the call couldn't have come at a better time. It gave her an excuse not to engage with Sebastian.

She answered it. "Roxanne, you're so vicious! You really went and reported us? You weren't even hurt. Why can't you just let it go?"

Roxanne raised an eyebrow. The tea in her hand let off a soft, soothing scent. Her voice was calm as she replied, "So, I can only report you if I get hurt? Wouldn't that be a little late by then? Just because I used to let things slide doesn't mean I'll tolerate everything forever. Did you think I forgot everything you and your friends have done to me?"

The only reason she hadn't made a fuss back then was because Sebastian disliked drama. So, she kept her head down, swallowed the slights, and avoided attention.

But now, she didn't care about Sebastian’s preferences anymore. And if Cecilia thought she could still subdue her, then it was time to settle both old scores and new ones.
