Hattie felt a whirlwind of emotions stirring inside her, and Lena's words almost pushed her over the edge. With a Herculean effort, she kept her cool and asked calmly, "Lena, why would you say something like that?"

Lena started to explain, "Last night around eleven, I was out on the balcony and saw Oliver sneaking away from Josie's room. I mean, Josie and Oliver meet up every night like this; it's such a hassle. They might as well just get married, you know? Then they wouldn't have to sneak around."

Josefina remained silent, her face giving nothing away.

Lena definitely had a knack for stirring things up!

Josefina asked evenly, "What time did you see Oliver? From your balcony? Did you take a picture or something for proof?"

Lena hadn't taken a photo; she had been too shocked to even hold her phone steady.

Hattie, watching Lena's expression, knew she had no evidence.
