TERRA'S POV:
THAT EVENING:
Heartbroken:
We were now at the reception where a bunch of business acquaintances were congratulating us, the newlyweds. I was rather silent, just grinning in response. I had met Ross' best friends since childhood and the two of them were hilarious, they had a few stories to share but Ross wouldn't allow them. He looked like he was tired of this wedding and he wanted to be over..I kind of felt the same.
"Congratulations, my favorite Nephew. I had no idea you were even seeing anyone after Nina." Ross, who was smiling after sharing a hug with the lady, frowned at the name, Nina. This was the first time I had seen him smiling, and he looked breathtaking.
This is my husband…wow…I thought to myself in amazement.
"I'm happy to see you Aunty." She rolled her eyes in a full circle at his simple response then diverted her attention towards me.
"Terra, right?" I nodded in response as she held onto my two hands, staring at me throughly. She looked at Ross through the corner of her eyes and he raised his hands up in surrender before leaving.
"You are a beautiful woman, gorgeous even." She complimented, using her thumb to caress my hand.
"Thank you ma, you are too." I said in response, keeping a smile on my face.
She just kept staring at me for a moment and I shifted uncomfortably.
"I really hope you indeed have a blissful marriage, you know? You seem like a gem and my sister over there might not see it right now and I hope it's not too late when she eventually does." Her face held hurt and she sighed deeply letting my hands go.
"Congratulations again." She said then left me standing there trying to process her words.
So I was right that Ross' mom did not like me? Will she hurt me or do something to me?
My head was hurting and I was beyond exhausted as it is tiring to go about greeting people and maintaining a smile on my face. Evelyn and her boyfriend had left a few minutes ago as her boyfriend had an emergency. I didn't hear what exactly Evelyn had said but I heard a family member might have been rushed to the hospital. I just hope whoever it is gets well.
I felt so alone in my wedding, from where I stood I saw Ross speaking to the lady who was next to his mother earlier. I debated whether to walk towards them or just mind my business. I decided the latter would be the best as I was nosey.
"Hi." I announced my presence standing next to Ross who I felt kind of short beside.
"Hi Terra, it's so lovely to meet you like actually see you up close. You looked like an angel." She gave me an overlook and gave me a small smile.
"Thank you. You're…" I asked, I heard Ross suck his teeth and groan.
"I'm Nina, you will get to see me alot I assure you. Well, it was nice to meet you. Congratulations you two, I pray y'all have a bunch of kids." She giggled then walked away.
His ex-girlfriend at his wedding? Interesting.
"Are you ready to leave? The driver is getting the cars ready…" He started scrolling through his phone as we walked side by side. I had no idea we were going, I just kept following.
"Yes, I am. But umm…Where would I…sorry I mean we are staying?" I questioned and he looked up from his phone staring at me and then looked back down without uttering a word.
