I was shaking with anger, and it took an hour for me to slowly calm down.

As I gently stroked my stomach, I wondered if the baby inside could sense my anger too.

Leland still had no clue I was pregnant. He found no trace of a miscarriage, convinced I’d faked the pregnancy just to win his sympathy and love. But he never figured out that I was genuinely pregnant.

I thought to myself, “Baby, I swear I’ll protect you, no matter what it takes, even if it’s my life. I just need to hang in there for a few more days. Soon, I’ll

leave.”

Denise poured me a glass of water, and I wiped the sweat from my forehead.

Even with the air conditioning at full power, I was still overheated.

“Kaylie, try not to get upset. It’s not good for the baby. Caitlyn is being way too cocky. If word gets out about what she said today, she’s gonna get slammed online.

“I know you’re thinking about Mr. Pearson and the Leslie Group, but I really can’t stand this anymore. I made a copy of today’s security footage. Just let me know if you want me to leak it.”

After listening, I took a deep breath, then had a sip of water and reassured Denise not to stress. Someone would take care of it since Caitlyn craved that spotlight way more than I did.

Before this issue became public, I had to strike a deal between the Leslie Group and the Zenith Group. If the Leslie Group’s stock prices dropped sharply, all of their shares would need to be transferred to the Zenith Group promptly.

My goal was to turn the Leslie Group into a shell company within three days, and I wanted Leland to face the consequences.

At the same time, I needed to keep any information Caitlyn wanted to reveal about her relationship with Leland under wraps for these three days. I had to make sure my plan went off without a hitch.

Meanwhile, I took a deep breath and began diving into the of this collaboration. I instructed Allen to go to the Leslie Group at the earliest

possible moment to sign the agreement.
