er 414 First’s self–rescue process
Inside the bar.
First paced around, glancing here and there, hoping he might run into Scarlett Adler.
But after searching the entire place, he found nothing unusual, let alone any sign of Scarlett.
His wandering, however, did attract quite a few curious glances from the patrons, as he was quite the “foreigner” in these
parts.

After a fruitless search, a hint of disappointment crossed his youthful face.
With a sigh of resignation, he was about to leave when a rugged–looking man suddenly approached him, speaking in a language First didn’t understand.
The man seemed to be a local, speaking their native tongue, which First wasn’t fluent in.
Listening to the man’s words, First furrowed his brow and replied in his crisp British English, “What are you saying?”

But the man continued in his language.
“Do you speak English?” First asked.
The two exchanged words that made no sense to each other for a while.
Unable to comprehend, First decided to give up and turned to leave. Just then, the man suddenly grabbed him.
First frowned, turning back with a wary look in his eyes. “What are you doing? Let go of me.”
The man kept speaking, seemingly trying to pull him outside.
The man was rugged and bulky, not someone you’d associate with anything pleasant.
First tried to shake off his grip, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t break free.
His hand discreetly reached for his watch, ready to switch it to attack mode. He glared at the man, warning him, “Let go! If you don’t, don’t blame me for what happens next!”
The man continued to babble on, completely ignoring First’s warning.
First was getting really anxious, struggling to break free but failing.
Finally, deciding he had no other choice, First was about to launch his attack when the man seemed prepared and
grabbed his hand, stopping him.
First frowned, looking at the man with surprise.
The man, however, had a smug look in his eyes, as if he’d seen through First’s plan.
Now, forget about attacking; even calling Tara Green for help seemed impossible.
“Let go of me!” First demanded, trying to escape his grip. But the difference in strength made First seem like a helpless
lamb.
His only option was to call for help from those around him.
“Help! Help!” First cried out, feigning vulnerability to elicit sympathy and attempt self–rescue.
But the people around just glanced over, unmoved.
First’s frown deepened. Were people here really this indifferent?
However, when First looked at the person in front of him, he saw a mischievous smile, as if everything was under his
control.
First forced himself to stay calm, thinking of all possible ways to save himself. This was definitely not the time to panic! But before he could act, the man suddenly grabbed him and tossed him over his shoulder, carrying him away.
First was completely bewildered!
What on earth was happening?
He immediately began to struggle. As they passed a group of people drinking, one of whom was on the phone, First seized the opportunity. He snatched the phone from the person’s ear and smashed it onto the ground.

With a loud crack, the phone shattered into pieces.
Finally, the person whose phone was destroyed reacted, standing up to block their path.
First saw a glimmer of hope, thinking about his next move. However, the big guy carrying him simply pulled out some cash and handed it to the person without a word.
In that moment, the power of money was undeniable.
The person whose phone was destroyed calmed down, even breaking into a smile.
Though they didn’t speak the same language, First could guess what was happening from the person’s expression and body language.
It seemed that no matter where you were from or what language you spoke, the sight of money brought out the same
reaction in everyone!
Seeing the man gesture for him to proceed, First finally understood.
People can be so superficial!
Without time for further reflection, First continued to call for help, “Help!” But the man acted as if he couldn’t see or hear
him at all.
Realizing it was futile, First glared at the man and threw a hard punch at him. The man looked surprised but didn’t react
much.
First gave him a thumbs–down gesture.
As he was about to be taken away, a thought suddenly struck him, “Tara Green!”
He shouted her name in Chinese, but the loud noise in the bar drowned out his voice.
And just like that, he was carried away.
Being hoisted over the man’s shoulder, First’s eyes were filled with despair.
Was he really going to be kidnapped just like this?
Was his reputation going to be ruined here?
He hadn’t found Scarlett yet!
He couldn’t die here!
With that thought, First began to struggle again, refusing to miss any chance.
His bag was restrained, preventing him from reaching any self–defense tools, and he was being held tightly. In a desperate move, First looked at the man’s shoulder and bit down hard!
He didn’t hold back at all!
First used every ounce of strength he had!
Ah-
Finally, the big guy reacted, letting him go with a pained expression and a loud roar.
