Chapter 217 Jealousy and Confessions
“Quincy, can I crash at your place tonight?”
Yulia had no intention of going back to that house again.
Her parents always favored Jake. All they ever did to her was scold and belittle her.
Quincy sounded a little awkward. “Yulia, we’ve got guests over tonight. There’s no space.”

Quincy’s family was just a regular household. Her parents were both salaried workers, and their apartment had three bedrooms
Several relatives from her mom’s side were visiting tonight, and every room was full–even her own had two younger cousins squeered in.
If Yulia came over, there really wouldn’t be anywhere for her to stay.
Is that so?” Yulia asked softly.
It’s true. I’m really sorry, Quincy said. “If my relatives weren’t here, I’d let you stay in a heartbeat. Yulia, don’t stay mad at your parents. Just go home and talk things through, okay?”
Tm hanging up.
Before Quincy could respond, Yulia ended the call.
She clenched her jaw, eyes filled with bitterness.
Relatives? What a joke. That was just an excuse to get rid of her. If you don’t want to let someone stay, just say so–don’t come up with lame lies.
Meanwhile, Becky stepped out of the bathroom, towel–drying her hair, only to see a tall figure standing in the doorway.
She paused, planning to head to her vanity for skincare, but Xavier leaned against the doorframe, one hand braced above her head, closing the space between them.
He was so close that his breath brushed against her skin. Becky instinctively backed away.
Then his other hand wrapped around her slender waist.
“You saw it, huh?”
His voice was low and velvety, the tail end curling like a hook, gently scratching at her heart.
Becky didn’t deny it. “Yeah. I saw it.”
Xavier chuckled. “Jealous?”
Becky puffed up her cheeks and turned her head away, chin lifted. “Not even a little.”
“No? Then why’d someone throw my phone at me just now? My poor phone didn’t do anything to you.”
Becky suddenly stomped down on his foot and pushed him away, then went to sit at the vanity.
Xavier:
To him, that stomp felt like a kitten pawing at his ankle–zero pain.
He smiled faintly and walked over to her.
“Becky, want me to dry your hair?”
No thanks. Go dry someone else’s.
“Who would I even dry? You’re the only woman I have.”

“Of course not. I only want you. I’ll only your hair?”
Becky let out a haughty little huff.
dry your hair. Happy now? My dearest queen, may I have the honor of drying
Xavier knew that meant yes. He flipped on the blow dryer.
The hum of the machine filled the room. Becky could feel his fingers brushing gently over her scalp.
She looked up into the mirror and saw his face–completely focused.
His fingers moved slowly through her hair, like he was handling something precious.
Something precious.
A strange feeling stirred inside her chest.
Five minutes later, she heard his voice above her.
“All done.”
Xavier turned off the dryer but didn’t step away.
Becky didn’t look at him. She began smoothing lotion over her face.
Then Xavier said suddenly, “I haven’t been in contact with Yulia for a long time. I deleted her number. That message today came from a new number.”
Becky stayed silent.
But deep down, she was satisfied with his response.
Even though they were just sleeping together, she had no intention of sharing a man with someone else.
That would gross her out.
Xavier wasn’t sure if her silence meant she’d forgiven him, so he added, “Don’t be mad I blocked that new number too.”
Becky: “_”
She turned to look at him. She didn’t say anything, but the little curve at the corner of her mouth said it all.
Xavier let out a quiet sigh of relief.
“I’m gonna go shower” he said.
“Okay.”
Becky nodded.
Xavier was about to turn when she suddenly remembered something
“Wait”
